Side hits (using the Side of the takeoffs as a jump) is highly frowned upon for a few reasons.

1). When hitting the side of a feature it can damage the takeoff making it dangerous for others. Examples of this are grooves and ruts forming in the takeoff the lead away from the feature.

2). It can put you and other riders at risk. Riders may see you coming to the takeoff and expect you to hit the rail/feature. This can cause a collision.

3). Normally the landings around the takeoff are flat since they aren’t designed to be used as jumps. This can lead to injuries.

Ragged Park’s signature Old School Pipe Jam is back!! We currently have plenty of snow and a crew of dedicated shapers and builders who will stop at nothing to bring you the gnarliest pipe build ragged has ever seen. YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS THIS.

Come out and join us for a hand-shaped half pipe with incorporated features (in the bottom of wild side / wild ride), for an afternoon of absolute old school madness. Wear your 80s / 90s / early 2000s swag to showcase the old school freestyle way. From huge shifties and tweaked methods to crowd pleasing sketchy air-outs, we want to see all of the old school style. Oh yeah, and you’re competing for a season pass for next year’s winter season. Did you know you get free day tickets to Jay Peak as a benefit of a ragged season pass??

Barnyard opens today with 3 features and a small jump with plans add another small feature soon. Park crew will be busy at work this weekend getting Wild Ride ready for the Upcoming USASA and Junkyard rail jams.
