New Fairfield Aquaflyers The NF AquaFlyers is a competitive swim team for athletes in the greater New Fairfield area.

The New Fairfield AquaFlyers Swim Team, a member of USA and CT Swimming, is dedicated to preparing young people for life through swimming. As a community-based, competitive swim team, we emphasize the development of mind, body and spirit while teaching sportsmanship, teamwork, and building self-esteem both between the lanes and outside the pool. Established as the "Aqua Bears" over 30 years ago, we've grown from just a handful of swimmers to a team of 125+ athletes -- ages 7 to 18 -- who reside in New Fairfield and neighboring CT and NY communities. The NF AquaFlyers is a year-round, multi-level swim team participating in USA swim meets in Connecticut, New York, and the New England region. In addition, swimmers who qualify, also compete in State and Regional Zone Championship competitions. We consist of 6 training teams and our team of seasoned coaches is dedicated to meeting the needs of individual swimmers from beginning competitors to National finalists. Our home venue is the New Fairfield High School 25-yard indoor pool during the short course (fall/winter) and long course (spring/summer) seasons. Practice sessions range between 3 hours a week to 13.75 hours a week, depending on the swimmer's ability and training team. Tryouts and evaluations for training teams are held in September for the short course season and April for long course season. In addition to training teams, we offer technique clinics and a learn-to-swim program.

This past weekend our swimmers participated in CT Swims Open Water Championship! This was new for a lot of our swimmers but they still went out there and did amazing. From the pool to a lake the Aquaflyers will be there. With the end of the season coming soon we love to see our swimmers pushing themselves to achieve great things.
