The Dana Point Grand Prix of Cycling is officially announcing it will not be returning for our 13th edition in 2019.
As the sun sets on our horizon, we’re happy in knowing the sun will rise on another. Until we feel the sunlight again, we sincerely want to thank those that gave the DPGP a reason to exist over 12 years - sponsors, community, volunteers, businesses, participants and especially to the thousands of enthusiastic children of all abilities as happy examples of how much fun cycling should be.
We graciously would like to thank the community and City of Dana Point, California and to our key supporting partners; the Boys & Girls Clubs of Capistrano Valley, Dana Point 5th Marine Regiment Support Group, Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary, Dana Point Chamber of Commerce and the many other important organizations and Volunteers that dedicated countless time and resources since our inaugural humble beginnings in 2007.
With the help and support of dedicated selfless people, businesses and volunteers, our small local bicycle event grew into one-of the best organized and attended national level races in America for 12 successful years.
We also would like to thank Kingston Technology Company for assisting our endeavor and mission when we needed it most and to acknowledge all our dedicated sponsors for without their key support, we would not have been able to help the local charities important to our tenets. Since 2007, the DPGP has contributed almost $200k to local and national charities and sincerely hope those efforts will continue within the hearts of our supporters onto many other important endeavors.
We hope you’ll carry a part of the Dana Point Grand Prix with you as you continue to navigate swift tailwinds and strong finishes while striving for exceptional results on and off the bike. Until the next start line...
The DPGP Team
