The City of Dana Point and Doheny Bike present: Santa's Helmet Giveaway!

Saturday, December 18th from 10am-1pm at Doheny Bike, 34163 Pacific Coast Highway. Have a visit with Santa and kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade will receive a free helmet and water bottle!

Registration is required - please call the Recreation Division at 949-248-3536 to register.

Ring in the New Year at 9PM (midnight New York time!) at the Dana Point Community Center. This registered event is for guests 50+ years and features:

🎰A casino theme with free casino games
🍝Catered dinner by Brio Tuscany Grill - 6PM to 7PM

🎶A DJ playing your favorite songs
🎟 Free raffle prizes
🥂Alcoholic beverages available to purchase separately

FREE CERT ACADEMY JAN 21-23

The City of Dana Point is hosting a FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training from January 21-23, 2022 at our new Emergency Operations Center.

The CERT program educates citizens about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills. Participants will be able to use this training to assist others in their community following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

This 3 day course is open to all Dana Point residents over the age of 18. Residents aged 16-17 may participate with parental consent.

After the instructional portion of the academy, participants will be tested in a scenario-based exercise. Participants will receive a CERT manual and certificate of completion upon graduation.

Feeling creative this holiday season? Planning to decorate your home? Be sure to enter the Dana Point Youth Board’s Candy Cane Lanes Holiday Home Decorating Contest!! ⛄️🏡🎄

The Youth Board will visit the homes entered in the contest from December 20th through December 23rd and select the winners based on the following categories:

🏡 Best Overall - $300 in gift cards to DP businesses
⛄️ Most Creative - $200 in gift cards
🎄 Best Use of a Theme - $150 in gift cards

All winners will be notified after January 6, 2022.

The Spark of Love Toy Drive is underway, with many donation opportunities! This Saturday, December 4th, OCFA will be holding a drive-thru event at Crossline Church at 23331 Moulton Parkway, Laguna Hills 92653

Also this Saturday, December 4th, and Monday, December 6th, the City of Dana Point will be collecting toys at both the La Plaza Park and Pines Park Tree Lighting Ceremonies.

Toys will also be accepted at all 77 OCFA fire stations. Visit ocfa.org/toydrive for details.

If you would like to donate, please bring new, unwrapped toys to any of the above locations!

Be a Santa for a senior this holiday season!🎅🏽 Beginning November 29th, you can stop by the Community Center, 34052 Del Obispo, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and visit our “Giving Tree” in the lobby to pick up a tag to purchase a gift for a local Dana Point senior. Each tag will have a gift idea for a male or female senior. We ask that you purchase the gift and bring it unwrapped, along with the tag, to the Recreation Division office by December 13th. 🎄🎁

Please join us as we celebrate the holiday season with our annual tree lighting ceremonies!🎄

LA PLAZA PARK – Saturday, December 4th from 4:30pm – 5:30pm (tree lighting at 5:15pm sharp)

PINES PARK – Monday, December 6th from 4:30pm – 5:30pm (tree lighting at 5:15pm sharp)

At both ceremonies, Santa and his elves will arrive at 4:30pm on his Jolly Trolley to hand out treats to children up to 12 years of age. 🍬

🎅🏽 Santa’s elves will also be collecting letters to Santa to bring back to the North Pole for Santa to answer. Please include your mailing address so that Santa can return a special letter. ✉️

There will be carolers, hot chocolate, cookies, and fun! 🎶

The City will also be collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Spark of Love Toy Drive. 🎁

🎄CANDY CANE LANES 2021 ⛄️

The Dana Point Youth Board’s (DPYB) annual holiday home decorating contest will take place from Dec 20th through Dec 23rd. The DPYB will visit the homes entered in the contest and judge them for Best Overall, Most Creative, and Best Use of a Theme.

Winners will receive: bragging rights, a sign to proudly display in your yard, and gift cards to local DP businesses - $300 for Best Overall, $200 for Most Creative, and $150 for Best Use of a Theme.

Enter your home to be featured on the Candy Cane Lanes’ map published on the City’s website and social media. To enter, email Monique Leon at [email protected] or call (949) 248-3507. The deadline to enter is December 17th.

Winners will be notified after January 6, 2022. Good luck and happy decorating!

🎅🏼SANTA’S JOLLY TROLLEY⛄️

On Saturday, December 4th from 1:30pm - 5:30pm, Santa and his elves from the Recreation Division will be riding on his Jolly Trolley and making stops at the parks listed below to hand out pre-packaged treats for kids up to 12 years of age. Santa’s elves will also be collecting letters to Santa. Please include your mailing address on the letter so Santa can return a special letter to you.

At our last stop, La Plaza Park, from 4:30pm - 5:30pm, the annual tree lighting ceremony will be held with carolers, hot chocolate, and cookies. The tree lighting will be held promptly at 5:15pm. We will also be collecting unwrapped toys for the Spark of Love Toy Drive at La Plaza Park.
