We took 4 kids to Defend the Den on the eastern shore this weekend. Came home with a few championship belts and a second place finish! Congrats to Major, Brendan, Matthew, and Daniel!!

Congrats to our place-winners from the Tyrant Maryland Junior Wrestling Championships yesterday at Mcdonogh!!

And congrats to Thomas Trinh, who won the championship belt for winning his bracket at the Josiah Henson Memorial Tournament in VA yesterday!

Congrats to our place-winners from the Junior League State Championships yesterday at Northeast HS! This tournament is the championships for the top place-winners from each of the straight weight leagues in the state.

We wrapped up the MJWL season with the league individual tournament yesterday in Randallstown. The team finished 5th out of 21 teams and we also won the league Sportsmanship Award.

Congrats to our league champions- Matt Kruger and RJ Dunn!! We finished with 12 placers in the top-6 of their weight class. Great team effort!

Shout outs as well to Miles Sumlin and Benji Polanco!! Miles wrestled at the Nittany Lion Open at Penn State and finished 3-0 to walk away as a champion. Benji pinned his way through his bracket the Future Champs Finale to finish his season as a champion. Great job boys!!

Congrats to all of our wrestlers who competed at the MSWA State Championship yesterday!! We had 25 kids competing with the best wrestlers from all over MD. We had 6 wrestlers get on the podium with a top-6 finish and several others who lost in the blood round, missing placing by one match but still finishing top-8.

Huge congrats to STATE CHAMP THOMAS TRINH!! He has put in a lot of time over the past two years to get to this point. Very happy to see him have his moment on top of the podium as the best in the state.

Big weekend coming up!! DSA Wrestling has 27 wrestlers competing at the MSWA State Championship Tournament this upcoming Sunday!! These kids are prepared to battle and I can’t wait to see them fight their butts off against the best kids in the state. Good luck boys!

Also- congrats to several of our wrestlers who went down to Richmond, VA to compete in the Tyrant Mcdonogh Duals. They competed against some of the best wrestlers in the country, with over 1,000 kids at the tournament coming from almost all 50 states. Great job guys!

Our rec wrestlers wrapped up their season this past weekend with the DSAWL tournament at Damascus HS. There was over 230 wrestlers from all league teams combined giving their best to finish the as a champ. So much fun watching all the kids progress, improve, and battle all year long. Congrats to all on a great season!!

Many thanks to coaches Ben Wisniewski, Kevin Wittenberger, Justin McAuliff, Carl Johnson, Steve Posin, Bill Burns, James Brady, Nick Jerman, and Noah Reynolds for coaching all year and running a great DSAWL season and tournament.

Thanks to Lindsay Burns, Molly Brady, Laura Wittenberger, and Sarah O’Neill for the time they put into making sure the teams were organized all season and helping things run smoothly. They all kept the tournament moving along well without any hiccups.

Our DSA Advanced team finished up the dual meet season with a 3rd place finish (out of 21 teams in the league) at the MJWL Dual Championships yesterday!

The top-8 teams in the league headed to Linganore HS yesterday. We came in as the 5-seed and beat Middle River in the first round, avenging a loss from earlier in the season.

We dropped our semi-final match to #1 seed Germantown. We fought hard and the kids gave a great effort in defeat.

In the third place match, we knocked off 3rd seeded Milford Mill 50-43.

Very proud of the team this year. We had a younger team, with only two 8th graders on the team, and lots of kids wrestling up against older kids and bumping up in weight class to fill holes in the line up. They never complained or backed down from a battle. Great job Cougars!
