North Georgia Roller Girls North Georgia/Dalton's roller derby team. North Georgia Roller Derby (NGRD) is an all woman amateur flat track roller derby league based out of Dalton, GA.

The league is comprised of like-minded, strong, intelligent, and determined people who share a goal of emotional and physical strength through the sport of roller derby. We, as a league, promote mental and physical empowerment, development of skills, and encouragement of friendship, individuality, and loyalty both on and off the track. We are always recruiting skaters, non-skating officials and referees as we continue to grow.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Our first home bout of the season will be June 11th at the Chattanooga Convention Center. This bout is brought to you by Lucidity Float and Wellness Center and will benefit the Humane Educational Society. Our Ruby Regulators will battle Fort Walton Beach Junior Bombers, our B-Railers will take on Vette City Roller Derby, and our All Stars will go against Panhandle United Roller Derby. It seems to be a struggle with many leagues to find space to practice and play. Unfortunately, we are one of those leagues as well. We have bounced around between spaces due to high rent cost of skating rinks/ empty warehouses and/or Recreational leagues needing space over us in local gyms. There are not many options. Our track requires a large space and that’s hard to find at a reasonable price when you are a smaller league trying to grow. It also doesn’t help when most public spaces like outdoor basketball/ tennis courts and tracks don’t allow skating. It’s definitely a struggle for our league as well.

Roller derby leagues have a new nemesis: Gentrification. Reporter EilĂ­s O'Neill brings us the story of a Seattle league that's looking for a new home.
