Hello all. After Valiant's closure, we got stuck with $18,000 in back rent due. A lot of folks suggested starting a Gofundme, so we did. If the back-rent is caught up, anything extra will go to Josiah's family getting back into a home. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated. OSS!

This is Goodbye.

We went 3 years strong. We took titles, won awards, and left it all on the mats. We won or learned.

Team Valiant ran with the best and still won. We trained and sweat and bled for our place, and we secured it every time we showed up. Our gold medal ratio was 75-80% every comp. When our competitors saw our team in their bracket, they knew they were in for a fight. We delivered.

My name is Josiah Paul. I am a student of Professor Derek Cleveland. He was the pioneer of our art in North Idaho. When he passed away, I carried the torch. No one could do what he did, but I tried anyways. When the Academy struggled, I sold my house to keep it alive. When it struggled again, I sold my trailer and rented again to help. Same with my car.

Even amongst the trails, champions emerged, and that's what kept me going. They just kept winning. The triumphs, the victories, the smiles, they made it all worth it.

To everyone who carried that V on their Gi, thank you for everything. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for learing. Thank you for fighting.

As this legendary team ends, there are so many lessons I wish I could give to you all. I'll add just these few; Winning isn't the medal. It's not the fastest tap, the best takedown, or the best performance. Winning is being better than you were yesterday, last week, last month, last year. Be humble and you will keep growing. Be devastating in the match, but respectful before and after. Fight clean and win fair. Be the best parter a teammate can train with.

Be courageous and determined. Be Valiant.

This promotion deserves a post of it's own. Naomi Raybell is one of the originals of Valiant. She started her journey with Professor Derek Cleveland as a youth, but never quit after his passing. She's the student you can pair with anyone and you they will grow. She is a fierce competitor, taking down every blue belt and purple belr she faced. She is a dedicated coach who can jump straight out of her matches to come corner you. She took on the challenge of teaching our "Littles" class, and truly made the program her own with new ideas and teaching methods. Most of all, she is the kindest and most genuine young woman you'll ever meet. We are all so proud of her.

Very few people surpass the blue belt, so this is no small accomplishment. You are every bit deserving Naomi! Keep crushing it in every pursuit before you, you are amazing!

This weekend, the fam went to Seattle and hit the Revolution 56 tournament. Everyone left it all on the mats, and we pulled some killer wins!
