Opening Day is fast approaching so we wanted to take this opportunity to share our updated map for the 2026-2027 season.
Changes to Highlight:
📍Schmidt’s has changed and is now the previous West portion only. The parking area is now located across Helen’s Lane.
📍Potluck is not available this season. This area is on rotation every three years.
📍Russell’s and Sherwoods have updated boundaries.
📍 Additional strips have been added at Spotts South.
📍The East strip at Kennelside is slightly smaller.
📍 The strips at Wolfgang’s are wider.

Please be sure to request to have your releaser show you the boundaries of your hunting area if you are unsure. We look forward to seeing everyone this season!

Looking for something to do on Saturday August 8th? The SUN Area Chapter of the NWTF is holding a Sportsmen’s Bingo at the Kreamer Sportsmen’s Club.

⏰ Doors open at 11AM, bingo starts at 2PM

If you’re wondering why this event is so important, the SUN Area Chapter of the NWTF hosts the Wingshooting Warriors Event at Martz’s Gap View Hunting Preserve each fall. This event gives veterans and first responders the opportunity to go on guided hunts at the preserve, free of charge.

So if you like bingo, raffles and rip tickets, this is a great opportunity to support a group that supports a very special group of people.

Get ready!! Member packets and brochures are hitting the post office this week. Check your mail!
Reminder: Member packets are mailed to the Primary Member. Secondary members will receive a brochure. Release forms can be signed at the office upon your first visit for the season.

Reminders for our Memorial Benefit this weekend honoring Danny.

🪶 We have 1 spot available for Sunday’s 12:00 pm Continental shoot and 6 spots available for the 3:00 pm shoot.
🪶 Please arrive 40 minutes - 1 hour prior to your Continental shoot reservation for payment, forms, and safety orientation meeting. Safety meeting will occur 30 minutes prior to each shoot.
🪶 Registration for Continental shoots will be held inside the Clubhouse Office.
🪶 Continental shoots are $250.00.
🪶 Four boxes of ammo are recommended for Continental shoots.
🪶 Workers/Throwers/Retrievers should arrive 1 hour prior to their assigned Continental shoot.
🪶 Wobble Trap and 5-Stand will be available both Saturday and Sunday. $15.00 per round per person.
🪶 Sporting Clay Course will not be open due to Continental shoots taking place.
🪶 One box of ammo is recommended for Wobble and one box is recommended for 5-Stand.
🪶 All Continental shoots, wobble, 5-stand, food, and raffle ticket purchases are CASH or CHECK ONLY with checks made payable to Travis Erdman.
🪶 Field and target load ammo is sold separately through Martz’s Gap View and available for purchase inside the Clubhouse. $12.00/box for target load. $15.00/box for field load.
🪶 Blaze orange and safety glasses are mandatory for participation in Continental shoots, Wobble, and 5-Stand. Hearing protection is strongly recommended.
🪶 Food Sales are separate in the pavilion behind the Clubhouse Office.
🪶 Food will be available for purchase or pick up starting at 11:00 am both days.
🪶 Chicken platters are $10.00 each and include 1 side and 1 dessert.
🪶 Soup Sales and quarts will be $8.00 each. Soups: Pheasant Corn and Ham & Bean
🪶 Ham Pot Pie will be available on Sunday only. $8.00 per quart.
🪶 Raffles will be available in the pavilion behind the Clubhouse Office.
🪶 Food purchases and raffle tickets can be purchased without the need to participate in the shoots.
🪶 Proceeds from event will go directly to Dan’s wife and two children. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated as we honor Dan’s legacy.
A huge thank you to all volunteers, staff, and friends/family who have helped organize, donated food, raffle items, and time.

Help us fill all of the remaining spots for the 3pm shoot on Sunday, April 19 (this was an additional shoot that we added after the original post). We have 7 spots available. Let’s honor Dan’s memory while helping to support his family. Contact the office to reserve your spot. There will also be clays, raffles, and food available for purchase. Be sure to stop by this weekend.

As many of our followers know, on January 29, 2026, Dan Barnhart lost his life in an automobile accident. Dan worked full-time at Martz's since 2016 and was a cherished member of our staff. Whether he was taking a fellow employee out on the river for an evening, helping co-workers and friends to get a start in the sport of angling, or setting up the annual Martz Catfish tournament, he was always there to encourage and help. Dan's positive personality, quirky grin, and witty sense of humor have been sorely missed here by both his hunting clientele in which he guided, as well as his fellow co-workers. He leaves behind a family that were the apple of his eye in his wife, Sheridan, and his two daughters, Hailee and Taylor.
We will be hosting a fundraiser in which proceeds will benefit Dan's family.

Dates: Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19

Time: 8:30 to Whenever both days.

We will hold five Continental Shoots.
- Continental Shoot 1: Saturday, April 18 at 9:00 AM = THIS SHOOT IS ALREADY FULL
- Continental Shoot 2: Saturday, April 18 at 12:00 PM
- Continental Shoot 3: Saturday, April 18 at 3:00 PM

- Continental Shoot 4: Sunday, April 19 at 9:00 AM
- Continental Shoot 5: Sunday April 20 at 12:00 PM

Price per shoot is $250 per person - Includes breasted birds only (no lunch, sporting clays, or walk-up).
We will accept Cash or Check (no Credit Cards) with Checks made payable to "TRAVIS ERDMAN" who is Dan's brother-in-law and Trustee of the proceeds.

Wobble and 5-Stand will be open the entire day both days. Cost is $15 per person for each range. Each station is 25 targets. Walk-Ins welcome. No reservation required to shoot clays.
The Sporting Clay Course will NOT be available on these days.

REMINDER: This is a FUNDRAISER EVENT. Membership birds and discounts of any kind do not apply. This is a Cash or Check event, with all checks made payable to "Travis Erdman". No credit cards. Gift Certificates will not be accepted.

We will have food for purchase along with tickets for raffle items with all proceeds going to Sheridan, Hailee and Taylor.
