When you're trying something new...
An idea, approach or different way of being...
It's normal to feel like "it's not working" or "it didn't work".
In a stressful state, your mind has a tendency to rebel against or resist change...
Especially if it believes you don't have time.
Change takes time and any sense of urgency or impatience in it can send your nervous system into a frenzy...
And the first thing it wants to grab is control.
It's one of the reasons you try to keep up on everything...
To avoid stressing over it.
And the questions, concerns and doubts come up anytime there's a move to give up that control.
The thing here is making sure that it doesn't keep you from getting on the other side of your attempts to experience the ease.
Here's what you can do to relax your mind and calm your nervous system...
So that when those thoughts and feelings show up...
You'll be able to come into the ease regardless.
👄 Speak on the good stuff.
Vocally acknowledge what you're doing and what's going well. Putting the good stuff into words gives it the power to exist, to uplift you and bring in energy that opens up your mind for curiosity, clarity & change.⬇️
🧠 Shift your mind into positive thinking.
Remain open to the idea of adding in new things by giving yourself a reflection that sparks curiosity. Curiosity keeps you away from judgment, making it easier to gain clarity. Remember, clarity = decisiveness and being decisive is how you get things done.
Instead of "it's not working" or "it didn't work", try -> "it's not the right fit & that's ok, what is working?" or "what came from my effort?"
Once your mind is open, it opens your eyes.⬇️
👀 Be on the lookout for small/big changes.
See if you notice any changes, big or small, that you & your child may not do often or that show up after you've tried something. Things like being more organized, putting things in order, making steps, slowing down, breathing, paying more attention, being more focused or anything that was picked up from trying the new thing. Once you spot it, don't forget to speak on it!🔃
The most important part is...
Recognizing that, even in the tiniest effort, you're trying...
And the more you realize how much you show up in all that you do, the more you'll feel at ease & relaxed in who you are!❤️
I'd love to hear how this landed, please share in the comments or PM me.😊
