💜Women’s History Month at Pegasus Softball💜
Meet Debra Jean.
Debra’s love story with this community began in 1980 at the NAGAAA World Series right here in Dallas. She fell in love with gay athletes and the spirit of the game — and she’s been umpiring, playing, or coaching ever since.
Over the years, she’s met hundreds of people across the USA and Canada, building friendships and memories that stretch far beyond the field.
Debra says it simply:
She loves this game.
And she loves the people who play it.
We asked Debra:
What advice would you give to a woman walking onto the field for the first time?
She shared:
“You are about to experience something awesome if you open your heart to all of these wonderful people that play in our league. Gay Softball is way more than the game we play.”
For over four decades, Debra Jean has embodied what makes Pegasus Softball special — dedication, community, and a belief that this sport connects us in powerful ways.
This Women’s History Month, we celebrate Debra — for her longevity, her leadership, and the heart she brings to the game. 💜
