Nowhere does God give us the right to stop and give up the fight. If you have the ability to respond, then it is your responsibility, not someone else's. In my last shotgun class, I had two students over 50 and two more over 70, and they ran the twelve-gauge all day. So far as is possible within ourselves, we are always prepared to do what needs to be done. God does not ever give us the right to give up the fight. We had an excellent One Day Tactical Shotgun Class on 10/25. All the students were achieving very serious proficiency after six hours and 200+ rounds of birdshot and 00 buck. All were reminded once again why the shotgun is the King of Close Range. The ease of hitting, combined with the power, explains why the average number of rounds expended by a shotgunner in a fight is 1.
This next Saturday will be the first Tactical Shotgun Continuous Training Session for those who have participated in the One-Day Class.
All the guns ran perfectly, except for a couple of failures to extract with an older Mossberg 500 that may need a good bolt disassembly and cleaning.
We had two semiautomatics (Beretta 1301 and a Benelli M4), two Mossbergs (500 and 590), a Re*****on 870, and an 870 clone. In strong hands, the pumps were practically as fast as the semi-autos at this level of training.
