Fun fact: I’m a first lady of a church ⛪️

Yep, my husband is a pastor.

Funny this is, I didn’t grow up in church like many people.

My family was more of the “CME” kind—Christmas, Mother’s Day, and Easter churchgoers 🤦🏽‍♀️

It wasn’t until I got to college that my faith journey truly began.

At 18, I found myself surrounded by friends who were deeply connected to their church, and it opened my heart in a way I hadn’t experienced before.

That’s when I gave my life to Christ and got baptized.

When I married my husband, I didn’t have the faintest clue what it meant to be a pastor’s wife.

Like I said, I didn’t grow up in the church world so I wasn’t one of those women dreaming of sitting on the front pew in a fancy hat.

That was never me.

So, I carved out my own path, showing up as myself—no facades, no expectations.

That’s the only way I knew how to do it.

I’ve been on this faith walk ever since.

Business felt impossible at one point.

I hit a low where I thought about quitting.

After my injury, I couldn’t focus.

People told me all the time that I’m always doing too much.

For the first time, I started thinking they were right.

It got bad yall.

I even considered selling SERWC.

The healing process was slow.

I felt stuck.

BUT GOD… 🙌🏽

I prayed constantly, leaning on my faith to pull me through.

I would listen to prayers and scriptures before bed to help calm my mind.

I surrounded myself with the Word of God and peaceful music to lift me out of the darkness.

It was during that time I felt like giving up, but God brought me through it.

And I’m so thankful 🙏🏼

If you’re struggling to push through, lean on the Lord. He will always see you through.

I grew up in the projects.

I went to the roughest HS in Chicago (Wendell Phillips High School)

I was exceptionally smart and became part of the Principal Scholar Program, sponsored by the college.

I studied engineering at the University of Illinois and later majored in Spanish.

At 16, I went to Peru and stayed with a Peruvian family, becoming fluent in Spanish.

I graduated with a degree in International Business, which explains my creative and strategic mindset.

It wasn’t until after my first job after college that I moved away from Chicago Housing Authority.

The rough beginnings didn’t define me—they empowered me.

And that’s exactly the mindset I bring to every challenge today.

Your past doesn't limit your future.
