🚨🚨Update!🚨🚨

I just heard back from the Walnut Grove coach and we are good to go!! I just have to go get a FBI fingerprint background check and confirm they have all the paperwork they require.

He has been in the hospital and still recovering, so that will give me time to get the background check back and then get a date for us to start practice back up!

Prsctices will be Tuesday and Thursday 6-8pm for now. We are working on trying to get a way to add at least 1 more day in.

Let’s freaking go!!!

🚨🚨Room Update🚨🚨

Ok, we have a room, but it’s definitely not the ideal situation that I was hoping it would be.

They’re making the Walnut Grove high school coach be present for all practices. He is only available Tuesday and Thursday, so that will be the only days we can practice. We also can’t practice during school breaks.

Cost, it’s going to be $40/hour if we ONLY have Prosper ISD students. The price if we have non-PISD students will be based on how many we have in the club. I am going to try to get them to just charge us the $40 if possible.

💥The cost is a bit higher than we can do on our current registration dues. I have been eating all the costs (and they’re SUPER high right now since this is the time I have to renew all registrations/insurances) and at $800+/month to rent the room…the current dues are not going to be enough…especially since our numbers will be much lower now.

💥With that said, I am going to have to change it to $100/month for dues, with a season commitment (all of Folkstyle season or all of Freestyle/Greco/Summer season) to make sure we have enough wrestlers to cover the costs for at least the season. Those that have paid their yearly dues recently will be exempt from the monthly this season.

I am super sorry about all this, I am really struggling and not doing well with all of this. I have worked so long and hard to build this team to something to be proud of and I am basically watching it crumble to the ground because of the costs and limitations we are having.

I am sorry if I haven’t been communicating well, I am just really handling this very well. I am hoping we still have enough wanting to stick around to make this work. I promise you all that I am doing everything I can.

🚨💥If anyone has any suggestions or anything PLEASE let me know!! Tony is asking around to see if there is another possibility that’s close by that can work. I wish I, and everyone else, could make it out to Anna to David’s gym, but I can’t make it there and/or have my kids gone that much longer.

I love you all and please know I have given everything I have to the team and to try to keep it going. 😢

Looks like we are getting to the final stages!!! I am not sure what the fees will be just yet, but surely it’s something more reasonable!

Very sorry about the slow update. I have been sick and got behind on some work and messages.

Nothing super major coming from Saturday, but the coach at walnut grove said he was going to talk to someone else to see if they can help speed it up. I also talked to some parents of wrestlers there that go to TTA and they’re going to talk to everyone they know with the Prosper ISD to try to make the push.

I feel like we are right there at the finish line, but at the mercy of the Prosper ISD to just look at it and give the green light. I am REALLY hoping we can get someone with the ISD to just take a few minutes to look at our application and give us the approval!!

🚨🚨IF ANYONE KNOWS SOMEONE WITHIN THE Prosper ISD BOARD…CAN YOU PLEASE REACH OUT TO THEM AND ASK FOR THEIR HELP!!🚨🚨

Coach Mike Krause passed away this morning. One of the best youth coaches I have ever met! Loved bringing him out to do camps for us every year. I am definitely going to miss that crazy dude!

65-97kg brackets start tomorrow at 3:30am.

Semi-finals for 65-97kg starts at 9:45am - this one is big as it could have Kyle Snyder vs Abdulrashid Sadulaev (Russia)!!

Finals (1st and 3rd place) for 57, 74, 79 and 92kg starts at 11am - we have 74kg Kyle Dake (going for 1st) and 92kg Zahid Valencia (going for 3rd)

Today was a great day for USA at the world championships!!

USA went 4 for 4 today in medal matches!!

61kg Vitali Arujau beat the Russian to win his first world title…he is still in college too!

70kg Zane Retherford beat Yazdani from Iran to win his first world title!

86kg David Taylor beat his rival Yazdani from Iran by pin with 2 seconds left! That is David’s 4th world title to go with his Olympic Gold!

125kg Mason Paris took 3rd by beating the Russian. This is Mason’s first world medal. He just found out about a week ago that he was wrestling at the world championships when Stevenson had to drop out!

🚨🚨URGENT UPDATE!!🚨🚨

We are now finally progressing with calling Walnut Grove our home!!

I reached out to the high school coach there and expressed to him the urgency of this. He said he did hear back from the district and they said they’re getting the final procedures in place for clubs. He reached out today to see if they can expedite this for us and he just emailed me to have me send over documents for the club.

🚨🚨No Practice again tonight🚨🚨

Walnut Grove is looking like a solid plan as of right now. Just have to get all the details and requirements worked out. MCA is still ghosting me.

I have also reached out to the Princeton coach who said we can use their facility for at least the interim. Yoshida And Yoshida MMA gym in Anna is also an option in a couple weeks if we haven’t got Walnut Grove worked out. Power Training Center in Wylie has offered for us to practice with them in the interim as well.

Again, I am super sorry about all this and I really appreciate y’all being patient and sticking with me while we work this out.
