We camped out just past the Kona finish line as the sun was setting to ask athletes one question: What fueled you to the finish? Their answers were funny, heartbreaking, and totally candid.

We rescued this little sweetheart in our neighborhood recently and now we need to find a good home for her. She is super gentle and appears to be comfortable around other cats. She has a small wound on her belly that we are helping her recover from. Other than her wound, the vet gave her a clean bill of health. She has a chip, but unfortunately it was not registered. This tells us she had a home at one time, and we tried every avenue to find it for her, but no luck.

We were feeding her for a few weeks before she warmed up to us enough to get close. Once she felt safe, she literally jumped in my arms and follows us around every where. She was very grateful to be rescued. You could tell she was struggling and scared on her own. She's the biggest love bug. We call her Sox. She is a very quiet and layback kitty, who appears to be very bright. Probably around 5-6 years old. Once her wound heals, we will bring her up-to-date on her shots.

If anyone has been thinking about adding a new kitty to their family, please consider little Sox. She is a lovely sweet little girl, who is desperate for a home of her own. We would definitely keep her if we could, but anyone who knows me well knows I have reached my kitty limit. Unfortunately, we don't have room for her.
