Regionals 2026 came and went, and everyone had a fun time. After a busy summer, three of our students competed in Katy at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center last week.
Starting with super great news...
This year's USDF Region 9 Teaching Excellence Award was granted to Allison Stai! This award managed by The Dressage Foundation is an annual $5,000 grant that honors exceptional dressage instructors in Region 9 (which covers Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas). Allison is planning on using the $$ to provide education to students in our region!
Congratulations Allison! Well deserved!!
Moving on to the show's update:
Paige and Elenor improved their performance each day, coming home with a third place in the SWDC 1st level pony class! The pair also placed 4th in the large Training Level AA division!
15-year-old Kate rode her new horse Mo for the first time in the open show at 1st level, placing first on both weekend days! The pair also showed in the Dressage Seat Equitation Semi Finals 14 - 18 and finished 4th!
MK and Hygge went down centerline in the JR division in the Prix St. George earning the Reserve Champion Title! Counting towards next year's Young Rider program, she rode her freestyle on Sunday and finished with her personal best, 72+%
Drumroll... MK also won the Dressage Seat Medal Semi Finals and qualified for next year's Finals in Chicago!
YEAH, and congratulations to everybody to a successful show!
