The jealous friend wanted a taste…
The previous fish was much larger, but after jumping five or six times she was able to shake the hook.
On that final jump, I could see that she only had a single hook point in her mouth and I assume that after all that thrashing around, they probably opened up a hole in her face.
I immediately switched the hook for one of the brand new SPEAR21 assist hooks that just got in and BOOM! She was locked on with all 3 hook points.
they configuration of the hook points is slightly different than your typical treble. They make a T shape with the bait keeper prongs going up into your lure.
10/10 recommend getting these if you fish soft swim baits. IMO a size 2 is ideal for standard 6” swimbaits like the Kapsize shown in this picture.
