Where did the time go?
It feels like just yesterday some of you walked into the gym for the very first time, nervous and unsure, learning how to serve, pass, and play the game of volleyball. Now, we are standing here celebrating your final season as Dallas Mountaineers.
For many of you, this journey began in middle school. For others, it started later. No matter when you joined us, you became part of something special. Over the years, I watched you grow not just as volleyball players, but as young adults.
I watched some of you battle through injuries and refuse to give up. I watched some of you step into unfamiliar positions because the team needed you. I watched you become leaders, and teammates that others looked up to. Some of you even gave back by helping coach and mentor younger athletes in travel club.
When we look back, it won’t just be the wins, losses, or statistics that we remember most.
You remember the mile runs that seemed impossible at the time. You remember the hot gyms, the early mornings, the long practices, and all the hard work that happened when nobody else was watching.
You remember the bus rides filled with laughter, singing at the top of your lungs. You remember the team dinners, especially the pasta dinners before big matches, where teammates became family.
Most of all, you remember the moments in between the friendships, the smiles, the tears, the celebrations, the heartbreaks, and the memories that will stay with you forever.
As your coach, One of the hardest things is realizing that I have seen your first touch of a volleyball and now i watched your last touch as a Dallas Mountaineer.
You are not just graduating from high school. You are closing a chapter that has been a huge part of your lives. You have left footprints all over this program. The younger players watched you, learned from you, and dreamed of becoming you someday.
Years from now, the banners, records, and scores won’t matter nearly as much as the relationships you built.
As you move on to college, careers, and new adventures, never forget where your journey started and the family you built here at Dallas Volleyball.
Congrats Class of 2026
