Short recap for everyone as mountain bike season has come to close for me. This has been an amazing spring full of awesome trips to some of the best places the state of Georgia has to offer. I got to see many old friends, make many new ones, hang out with teammates, and compete at something I love doing. At the end of it all, the points led me to winning the 19-29 XC2 Georgia State Series Championship. More than anything I would like to thank all the sponsors that keep this amazing team going! Without each of you, no one on our team could take part in these amazing competitions. Georgia Natural Gas, Justin Landis and Keller Williams Realty, Podium Multisport, Mark Daker Fidelity Mortgages, Northlake Veterinary Surgery, LLC, and Built to Last Wheels

Congrats to Artur Sagat for the 3rd place finish in the SRS Huntsville Pro Road Race this past Sunday. Artur is on great form and it shows!

We thought you might like to read Artur's race report to the team.

Artur's report:

The race was 4 laps of a lumpy 18.9 mile course. At the end of each lap was a 3km exposed climb topping out at about 10%. The finish line was the top of the climb. I followed a few attacks that I deemed dangerous but nothing really went. Except for the super high attrition rate due to the heat and difficulty of the course, the peloton stayed mostly together. A bunch of attacks flew 1-2km from the bottom of the last climb and I followed every one. This was more of an effort to stay at the head of affairs rather than threat of someone actually getting away. At the base of the climb I was 5th wheel. One guy (ended up 4th) went super hard super early. Courageous but stupid. Andy Scarano (706), Winston David (Lupus), Brian Hill (Stan's NoTubes) and I followed steady and quickly got a huge gap on the rest of the peloton. Brian blew hard about 500 meters in. Andy and Winston pulled away from me in chase of the first guy who went at the base. I did my own steady pace to reach back up to them. As I caught Andy and Winston, they caught the guy. So it was 4 of us. We kept up the hard tempo and the guy blew up with about 400 meters to go. Winston accelerated and neither Andy nor I could follow although Andy got a bit of a gap on me. As Winston won, I nearly caught Andy. He got me by about a meter at the finish. 4th place rolled in 10-15 seconds later. I passed out on the grass.
