e on external objects; watches, handbags, cars etc. These things grow old, lose value and will eventually be replaced. Perhaps it's time to reconsider your priorities and invest in you? Your body is irreplaceable and your mind is your most important asset which is best utilized through constant growth. If you aren't investing in you, then I suggest you reconsider your priorities. Genetics aren’t everything...
β€’ Genetically I have the tiniest b***y. I literally trained glutes twice a week for 2 years, on a strict diet to gain muscle in this area.
β€’ Unfortunately I wasted a lot of time squatting, and eventually switched from lifting heavy on the lower body to isometric body weight exercises. The results came quickly and I soon realized that lifting heavy had forced me to engage muscles that I didn’t want to focus on. This meant that my quads and hamstrings dominated my training, while my glutes weren’t properly engaged in the exercises.
β€’ In reality, how often do we engage our glutes? ...Not too often. Our legs carry our weight when we move around, while our butt is used for sitting. Therefore in order to start making gains in that area we need to start with the basics, using no weight (or very light weight) with higher reps, focusing our attention on isolating that particular muscle group.
β€’ So... my advice is to start light on the glutes. Feel them and fully engage them if you are looking to build a b***y. Glutes bridges, donkey kicks and leg raises are your friends. Hold off on the squats if you are looking to start building your glutes from the ground up.

Dream without limits, then turn your dreams into goals πŸŒŸπŸŒπŸ•Š When I was growing up we spent our summers camping in the rain. We could never afford to go abroad and stay in hotels. I always dreamt of travelling the world and having the freedom to go, stay and do whatever/wherever I wanted. That dream became a goal. With work, perseverance, patience and above all resilience I am almost there πŸ¦‹πŸŒπŸ•Š

"Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right" - Henry Ford.

At 43 Dany stepped on stage for the first time. She has two children and a full time job. For most people this would be reason enough to expect failure, and give up on their dream. The hardest part is often getting started. People are scared to take that first step. People are scared to dedicate their time and energy to something that they may 'fail' at. Failure is in the mind. You win or you learn (a lesson well learned is still winning). As you pursue your goals, you grow and you get better. It may not work out the first time, but as you continue to chase that goal, you will continue to grow and get better and better one day at a time.

Success/achievement isn't luck. It's hard work and dedication. The true value being in the process and the mental growth that comes with it.

The best things in life are usually the hardest to attain. Go for it anyway! Persevere and you will succeed or find a path to something better. πŸ’ͺπŸ†

Massive congratulations to this gorgeous pair for all their hard work and dedication! They both qualified for provincials today and they both absolutely shone on stage. Oh and Danny (on the right) is 43 and has two children. I couldn't be more proud!

In the years I've spent in the fitness industry, I've heard every excuse in the book. This particular excuse is my favourite.

In case you are wondering, the answer is no. Weight lifting DOES NOT make you bulky. It burns calories and builds muscle. It's up to you to focus your attention on the areas you are looking to improve. If you have naturally large quads, go for lighter weights and higher reps. If you have a small butt, isolate the glutes and train them twice a week if you like. I have never seen a woman get bulky unless she has been taking drugs such as steroids (which can increase testosterone levels). As long as you stay away from the performance enhancers you're safe ladies πŸ˜‰ ..And to any men who have issues with weight lifting ladies... βœ‹οΈ
