After a two year hiatus, I was excited to return to my home track at CNS last Saturday. I definitely feel like a rookie again. I had to relearn how to drive, get back in the groove in preping the car in between runs, and my sore muscles are definitely reminding me how physical this sport is. The night brought back so many memories, good and bad, of what I missed and why I took a break. But my love of this sport brings me back. Of course, I made a rookie mistake by not rechecking all my bolts and my drive shaft fell apart right before the green flag for the Main. Despite not being able to finish Saturdays race, I'm already gearing up for the next one. I am truly grateful for all the support I recieved from family and friends for helping me get my car back together and for all the guidance and encouragement from the other racers and staff I met up with last Saturday. It was great to see some good friends again like Joe Starr, Danny Medina, Terry McBride, Darrel Stewart, and Abram Romero. We're looking forward to more this season and seeing everyone at the track!
