October 26th-30th, athletes are encouraged to come dressed in their spookiest attire (classes will still be skill focused, but with a few extra fun twists to accommodate those capes and tiaras).

Have Fun.

It's the first of our three words for a reason.

A kid who's having fun keeps coming back. And a kid who keeps coming back is the one who lands the skill, makes the friend, and finds out they're braver than they thought.

We see it every day here at K2. The giggles from the foam pit that you can hear all the way at the front desk. A row of kids upside down against the wall, trying to hold a handstand and laugh at the same time. The 4-year-old who runs back for one more hug from her coach before she'll leave.

You can't fake it. You can't schedule it. But you can build a gym where it happens every single day, and that's what we've tried to do for 20 years.

Have fun first. Being kind and doing your best come a lot easier after that.

Some kids sprint onto the mat. Some hide behind your leg for 3 weeks.

Both belong here at K2.

We've watched a lot of nervous first-timers turn into the kid who won't leave at pickup. Some take one class to warm up. Some take a whole month. Our coaches are patient with every one of them, because the shy ones often turn out to be the bravest kids in the gym.

If your kid's a little unsure, that's okay. We'll meet them right where they are.

Team K2 open evaluations are here.

If your gymnast is ready for more, this is the week to find out where they fit. Pre-team, compulsory, optionals, and Xcel are all welcome.

It's a full week to try it out, free. Our coaches meet every kid where they are and take it from there.

We could all use more kindness in our lives.

For 20 years we've been trying to give a little more kindness every day. But the best part of our work is that we get to see it every day.

The kids who clean up after class even when a coach didn't tell them. Or the Team K2 kids helping a teammate up after they've fallen and cheering them on when they get back on the beam. Or the parents driving out of their way to get their child to class here at K2.

It's the part we care about most and the most important thing we teach at K2. You can't drill it. You can't force it. And you can't always predict it.

But we decided to make kindness normal and let it shine for everyone, because when a kid learns it here they keep doing it long after their last back handspring.

Three words have run K2 for 20 years.

Be Kind. Work Hard. Do Your Best.

K2 opened off North Eldridge in 2005. It was a smaller building back then. Since then, we've built our own building, added new equipment, added the preschool and summer camps, and watched a whole generation grow up in here. Some of the kids who took their first wobbly steps on our beam are now bringing in their own kids. It's been an incredible journey.

Through all of it, the three words guided us.

They aren't decoration. They're how we hire, how we talk to a kid who just stumbled on the beam, and how we decide what a good day in the gym actually looks like.

Twenty years. Same three words.

This month we're celebrating our last 20 years and looking towards our next 20. To start we wanted to share what our mission means to us.

Twenty years ago we opened off North Eldridge with one idea: a kid doesn't have to be the best in the room to belong in it. A gym full of Cypress families this weekend proved it better than we ever could.

Our 20th bday bash was A-mazing! Thank you to all our current families and new ones for stopping by and celebrating with us! Huge shout out to Team K2 optional team for showcasing your stuff.
