🏈Black Tigers to Play Final Game at Clifford Stadium Before Transition to Lambert Stadium
The Cuyahoga Falls City School District invites alumni, families, and community members to gather for an historic evening at Clifford Stadium on Friday, September 12, 2025, as the Black Tigers celebrate Homecoming and play the final football game at Clifford Stadium.
The theme for the evening is “Come Home to Say Goodbye”, honoring both the last Homecoming game and the decades of memories made at Clifford Stadium before the district transitions to its new home at the Cuyahoga Falls 6–12 Campus.
Festivities begin with a free Tiger TAILgate from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on the practice field behind Clifford Stadium, featuring games, prizes, snacks, and performances by the CFHS cheerleaders and marching band. At 6:30 p.m., the Homecoming Court will be presented, followed by the kickoff against Barberton at 7:00 p.m. A special halftime tribute will celebrate Clifford Stadium’s legacy as the home to countless Black Tiger athletes, students, and community events. Following the game, guests will be invited to walk the field one final time, offering a meaningful farewell to this community landmark.
The closing of Clifford Stadium paves the way for a new chapter. The first game in Lambert Stadium is scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2025, against Aurora High School. Superintendent Andrea Celico shares, “We are grateful to our architects and construction managers for securing limited occupancy permits to allow us to host events before officially taking ownership of the building in November.” With the good news, the district is exploring the opportunity for the football team to practice on the new field and the soccer teams to hold contests on the field prior to the football game on October 3.
The district looks forward to hosting a grand opening celebration of Lambert Stadium at the start of the 2026 season, which will feature a special community event to officially mark this exciting new era for Cuyahoga Falls City School District.
