After 10,000 days in the Air Force and two kids out of the house, we decided that now's the time to explore this wonderful country and have some great adventures along the way.

Blue Pearl gave us the opportunity to hang out in Longmont, CO with our daughter, her boyfriend, and their fur babies.

Our first week overlapped with a visit with Rus' Mom Jennifer and Step Dad Peter, too.We had fun catching up, shopping, roasting hotdogs, playing with the pups, and catching an outdoor concert.

Happy belated birthday to an original shipmate on this journey! Cooper turned 11 years old on Sunday and many of you have met this kind-hearted, loveable soul. Not a day goes by without at least two or three "Hey there! Love you!" licks on your leg or face.

Roadside America strikes again.

The Jolly Green Giant 55.5 ft tall in Blue Earth, MN. (local radio station owner Paul Hedberg approached the Green Giant company President Thomas Wyman to ask permission to build a statue of their company mascot)

The Golden Stripe, Blue Earth, MN. Interstate 90 is the longest road in America, 3,081 miles from Boston to Seattle. Its east and west paving crews met just west of Blue Earth, Minnesota, in September 1978. To mark the event, the connecting roadway slab was made of gold-tinted concrete -- a "Golden Stripe" as a nod to the Golden Spike that joined the transcontinental railroad.

Roadside America is a fun way to break up long travel days and see interesting things on the journey. If you have questions just ask or Google it.

Volga River state rec area in Iowa was beautiful. We had coffee in West Union at Euphoria coffee. Chatting with the staff we heard about Country View dairy farm. It is a dairy farm that is open to the public and you can walk in for fresh custard. They also had frozen yogurt, cheeses, meat, honey, etc.

We found a local winery that had live music and a food truck on Friday night. They also had air bnb's, one in an old silo! We met a lady there who gave us an itinerary for antique shopping on our way to Strawberry Point (the world's largest strawberry).

We explored Strawberry Point and other small towns on Saturday. Per usual we ran across a festival in one town called Sweet Corn days. We were also trying to avoid the riders in RAGBAI (a bicycle tour across Iowa).

Enjoy!

Wow! We made it through Chicago traffic on I65. We have never seen so many semi trucks on the road in one place! Plus the roads were beat to crap. We have been traveling with our favorite rv friends Kelly-Scott Papineau on this journey with their RV Big Red.

We boondocked (no hook ups for water, electricity, or sewage) and ran on the generator, at Circle R rv park in Oshkosh, WI. Outside our door were acres of soybeans. Circle R had a fun little bar on site and you bet we had some cold ones after our hectic day!

We met up with our friends and neighbors Tricia Bamford and Greg Bamford, plus their boys. Greg owns a Tripacer that he flies to Oshkosh. We had a fantastic time hanging out with everyone. It was a hot and humid day, but totally worth the experience.

Enjoying a most excellent evening in Iowa. It's the places you get to visit and experience that make RV-ing worth it!

Our annual maintenance trip to Red Bay, Al for Blue Pearl has come to an end.

We had our ac and chassis maintenanced. A new screen door latch installed. Our awnings tightened. And added a new awning. Great up sale guys! We also discovered that the tpms (tire pressure monitoring system) problem was not a battery issue, but they are faulty and need to new ones. Our new star-link was wired into the cabintry and routed to the roof. To top it off she had a spa day.

Rus had a dental emergency and met the town dentist. They took great care of him. Unfortunately, he had a complication and also visited the ER. The were also great. More antibiotics, an IV, labs, and CT. He'll follow up at home. The Red Bay community really does take care of you when you are visiting!

We had a different week than planned, but did accomplish what we came for. And we did get time to be with our travel buddies Kelly and Scott Papineau. We ate at the local restaurants and had some good southern food!
