By a huge demand, we are going to offer 3 months starting in September of our hugely popular Little Rider Pony Pals class.
🐴 Little Rider Pony Pals is Back This Fall! 🐴

After two wonderful months of Little Rider Pony Pals this past spring, we're excited to announce three new sessions this fall!

Designed especially for children ages 2–4, this program is a gentle introduction to horses that focuses on confidence, safety, familiarity, and fun.

This is not a riding lesson program. Instead, it is an opportunity for young children to build comfort around horses while learning through hands-on experiences and age-appropriate activities. Parent participation is required.

Each one-hour class includes:

🐴 Meeting and interacting with a calm pony
🪮 Grooming and hands-on horse care
🚶 Leading a pony with assistance
❤️ Learning safe and gentle behavior around animals
🐎 Short pony rides or sit-on experiences
🎨 Games, activities, and themed adventures
⭐ Lots of encouragement and confidence-building

Consistency is important for young children, so each class follows a familiar routine that helps little ones feel secure and successful.

Fall Sessions

🍂 September Session
September 3, 10, 17, 24

🍁 October Session
October 8, 15, 22, 29

🎃 November Session
November 5, 12, 19, December 3

💰 Cost: $280 per 4-week session

One of my favorite things about this program is watching hesitant little ones transform into confident children who proudly brush a pony, lead them a few steps, and discover that these big animals are actually gentle friends.

If you have a horse-loving toddler or preschooler, we'd love to introduce them to the wonderful world of ponies in a kind, safe, and encouraging environment.

Spaces are limited, so feel free to reach out with questions or to reserve a spot. 💛🐴 www.wildewoodfarm.com

One of the questions we get asked constantly during the summer is:

“Should my child start with lessons or horse camp?”

In my experience, I strongly prefer beginners start with camp whenever possible. 💛

Here's why:

Horse camp gives us four full hours each day to teach, practice, and build confidence. Riders receive far more one-on-one help from counselors and instructors, more hands-on horse time, and far more repetition than they would in a traditional weekly lesson.

IOne week of horse camp contains the equivalent of about five weeks of lessons—and often even more because the learning is cumulative each day instead of being spread out over months.

Every rider is carefully paired with a safe, well-trained horse appropriate for their level, size, and personality. We focus heavily on:

🐴 Safety
🐴 Correct position
🐴 Horsemanship
🐴 Confidence
🐴 Kind, respectful communication with the horse

One thing that makes our camp different is that it is not a fluffy, craft-based camp where horses are simply the theme.

This is horse immersion.

Children ride every day. They learn to groom, tack up, care for their horses, and understand how horses think and communicate. They spend their days surrounded by horses, horse people, and real horsemanship.

We don't teach tricks, shortcuts, or gimmicks.

We teach children how to become riders.

The goal is not simply to sit on a horse. The goal is to understand one.

Camp is also an incredible value. Camp is $100 per day, while individual lessons are $80 each on a pay-as-you-go basis. The amount of learning, horse exposure, and confidence-building children gain during camp is tremendous.

There is something powerful about spending full days immersed in horses, animals, nature, friendships, and hands-on learning. Riders progress quickly because they are living it—not just visiting it once a week.

And yes... there is still room for last-minute additions! 🐎💛

🐴🌿 A Morning at Camp (as told by the animals…) 🌿🐐

The horses noticed it first.

“Campers are coming,” one of them said, flicking an ear toward the driveway.

The goats had already figured it out, of course.

“They always come this time of year,” one said, standing on something it definitely wasn’t supposed to be standing on.
“I call dibs on being brushed first.”

The chickens didn’t say much. They just scattered dramatically, as if something very important was happening.

The barn cats stretched, blinked slowly, and settled in like they had planned this all along.

And then the kids arrive.

Some come ready to ride.
Some come ready to meet every animal on the farm.
And some aren’t quite sure yet… but leave knowing a lot more than when they arrived.

By mid-morning:

Someone is proudly holding a lead rope for the first time
Someone is brushing a horse like they’ve done it forever
Someone is laughing at a goat doing something ridiculous
And someone is realizing they’re braver than they thought

There’s dirt on shoes.
Hay in places it shouldn’t be.
And stories already forming before lunchtime.

By 12:30, the animals are ready for a break…
…and the kids usually are too 😊

Then it all starts again the next day.

Horse camp.
Farm adventure camp.
Or a little bit of both.

The animals will be ready.
(Especially the goats.)

🐴🌿 Why Camp at WildeWood Farm? 🌿🐴

Summer camp is more than just filling a few hours in the day—it’s about giving children an experience they’ll remember long after summer ends.

At WildeWood Farm, camp is designed to be just that.

This year marks our 30th year of summer camp, and over the years we’ve had the privilege of watching children grow into confident riders, responsible young adults, and even return later with families of their own. 💛

We offer three types of camp to fit every interest:
🐴 Horse Camp — for those who want to ride and learn horsemanship - get your own horse for the week
🌾 Farm Adventure Camp — for kids who love animals and hands-on farm life
🔄 Hybrid Camp — pick your own adventure

Each day runs 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, giving kids a full, active morning while avoiding the heat of the afternoon. And if your child comes home tired… that’s a good sign 😊 It means they’ve been moving, learning, and fully engaged.

🌿 What Makes WildeWood Different?

✨ Space to roam
With nearly 40 acres of open land, kids have room to explore, breathe, and experience nature in a way that’s hard to find.

✨ Real farm life
This isn’t a petting zoo—it’s a working farm. Campers get to be part of daily life, surrounded by horses, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, dogs, and cats.

✨ Baby animals
There’s nothing quite like watching baby animals play—and yes, there are plenty of those this time of year 💛

✨ Hands-on learning
Kids don’t just watch—they participate. They learn responsibility, confidence, and how to interact safely with animals.

✨ Time outdoors
Fresh air, movement, and connection to the natural world—something kids need now more than ever.

💛 A Great Value

Camp is $100 per day, which includes a full 4-hour experience.

To put that in perspective:
A single one-hour lesson is $80.

Camp gives your child:
✔️ More time
✔️ More exposure
✔️ More experiences
✔️ More memories

🌟 The Takeaway

Camp at WildeWood isn’t just about riding or animals.

It’s about:

Building confidence
Learning responsibility
Making friends
Connecting with nature
And experiencing something real

If you’re looking for a camp where your child comes home happy, tired, and full of stories… this is it.
