Great Coaching, Regional Tournaments

The Tarheel Stars 18u team is holding individual tryouts for the upcoming 2015 Spring/Summer season. There are multiple positions open.. Tryouts will continue until the roster is complete for the 2015 Spring/Summer half season (12 to 14 players).

The Stars recruiting showcase teams play regional showcase and championship tournaments. There are 7 showcase and championship tournaments planned for the 2015 spring/summer season, including Scenic City, TN; The Legendary PGF Showcase, Va. Beach; TC Nationals, Myrtle Beach; Hall Of Fame Qualifier, Raleigh; Dynamite Classic, Spartanburg and the East Coast Fireworks, Rock Hill.

Are you looking for a Travel Team Organization where developing players through teaching and coaching, and getting them to college through softball are the priorities? The Tarheel Fastpitch Stars is that organization! (The Tarheel Fastpitch Stars is a 501©3 Non Profit NC Corporation: Donations and sponsorships are tax deductible, and all finances are public record reported annually to the NC DOR and the IRS.)

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) is the professional growth organization for fastpitch softball coaches from all competitive levels of play. Since their debut in 1993, the NFCA's recruiting camps have become one of the most popular ways for high school athletes to showcase their talent to college coaches. In 2012, the camps attracted more than 5,400 applicants and coaches from more than 500 colleges and universities from around the nation.

Administered Camps
Every aspect, from the application and selection process to on-field administration, is handled by the NFCA staff.

Endorsed Camps
The NFCA endorses three recruiting camps. While prospective athletes apply for endorsed camps on the NFCA Web site, administration, including the acceptance of athletes, and registration is handled by the respective local staff. Although these camps are managed by other groups, each camp must comply with strict NFCA standards.

EXCEL Camp Information

In the new NFCA EXCEL camps, players will be provided both hitting and defensive instruction. Defensively, players will select the position of choice for this intense, unique learning opportunity from college coaches. The afternoon will be filled with opportunities on the field as players will compete in games. Additionally, specific NFCA measurement testing will be conducted for all players.

EXCEL Recruiting Camps
Application and payment process is handled by the NFCA staff. On-Field instruction done by collegiate coaches; staff varies per camp.

It has been - I'm still waiting for them to list state championship games and winners, All district and State awards, and POY in each division. As many student athletes that play, as many parents with daughters that play, it seems the ears would perk up! Maybe this article is the start of it...

After a one day delay due to rain and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday, The Tarheel Stars 18U are 1-0-1 at the Pennsbury Invitational. Tied first game with ElmwoodPark Lady Tigers (Chicagoland) 2-2, then beat TNT Gold (PA) 6-3. Two more games tomorrow - GOOD LUCK STARS!!
