The City of Alpharetta has completed a temporary trail to connect users of the Alpharetta Big Creek Greenway to the Forsyth County segment of the trail along McGinnis Ferry Road. The 800-foot connection is intended to provide access between the two trail systems until the permanent connection is built as part of a planned widening of McGinnis Ferry Road. The following sections of the Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Big Creek Greenway multi-use trail are closed for repairs:

- *McFarland Pkwy. (marker 1.5) to Fowler Park (marker 4.6)
- Bethelview Rd. (marker 8.3) to Kelly Mill Rd. (marker 10.2)

The Greenway is OPEN for patrons between Fowler Park (marker 4.7) and the Bethelview Rd. Trailhead (marker 8.2)

*The Union Hill parking lot connected to the trailhead will also be closed through the duration of the trail closure.

Patrons will not be allowed to access the closed portions of the Greenway during the construction periods. Updates will be provided on the County social media channels and at Forsythco.com.

BIG CREEK GREENWAY CLOSURE: A section of the Big Creek Greenway multi-use trail underneath the Bethelview Rd. bridge will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 18, through Friday, Nov. 20, for emergency repairs due to a damaged culvert.

Patrons will not be allowed to access this portion of the greenway during the construction period. Updates will be provided on the County social media channels.

UPDATE: The Fowler Park Big Creek Greenway Trailhead (4110 Carolene Way) will be closed beginning Monday, Nov. 2, for boardwalk repairs, until approximately Nov. 20.

Please use the Union Hill Trailhead (5259 Union Hill Road) and Bethelview Trailhead (5120 Bethelview Road) during this period until the repairs are complete. A section of the Big Creek Greenway is being closed for repairs and renovations and will reopen in 2021.

Attention Big Creek Boardwalk Visitors:

A section of the Big Creek Boardwalk will be closed starting Monday, July 8 for repairs and maintenance. Barring any weather delays, the section will reopen by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12.

The section is located just north of the Mansell Road Bridge, right before the Alpharetta line. During this time, there will be no connection between Roswell and Alpharetta via the boardwalk.
