Most people who feel tired in the afternoon aren't sleep-deprived.
They're dehydrated.
Even mild dehydration — just 1–2% — can cause fatigue, brain fog, headaches, and reduced physical performance.
The fix is boring but it works: drink water before you feel thirsty. By the time you're thirsty, you're already behind.
A good rule of thumb: half your body weight in ounces per day. So if you weigh 150 lbs, aim for 75 oz.

She started somewhere simpler. Somewhere quieter. Maybe just parking farther away and deciding to take the stairs.

If you're dealing with back pain, nerve issues, or just the kind of ache that doesn't go away — you're not alone. And you don't have to push through a high-intensity class to feel better.

One of our Cumberland members came to our Tai Chi for Balance and Strength class managing disc pain and nerve damage. She told us this class has helped her work through chronic pain, improve her balance, and even get back on the treadmill.

Her words: "I enjoy the smaller class size too, because I've gained some special people in my life."

Something quiet is happening at Sunshine Cumberland on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

A small group of people have been showing up at 9:30 AM to do something a little different — tai chi focused on breath, balance, and strength. No jumping. No rushing. Just intentional movement that your body will thank you for.

One member told us her balance had been slipping with age and her stress was climbing. Two months in, both are improving.

Starting Tuesday, Jan 6th and Thursday, Jan 8th, we’re adding Senior Breath & Balance (Slow & Steady) to our weekly schedule!

This gentle, beginner-friendly class is designed to help you feel steadier, stronger, and more flexible in everyday life with easy movements like chair squats, heel raises, wall push-ups, leg lifts, Tai Chi–inspired flow, Pilates-style core work, and mindful breathing.
