🛹💙 SKATEBOARDING IS FOR EVERYONE!

What an incredible day of skateboarding, connection, and community at our Adaptive Skate Jam in Culver City!

At THE SKATESIDE, we believe skateboarding is so much more than learning tricks or riding a board. It’s about building confidence, discovering what’s possible, overcoming challenges, and finding a community where everyone belongs.

This event was a reminder of just how powerful skateboarding can be when we create opportunities for people of all abilities to participate, learn, and express themselves.

Throughout the day, we witnessed determination, courage, encouragement, and plenty of smiles. From trying something new to celebrating personal accomplishments, every moment reminded us why we do what we do.

💙 Different abilities. Different journeys. One skateboarding community.

In celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we wanted to bring people together and create an environment where adaptive skaters could feel welcomed, supported, and empowered.

Because skateboarding isn’t about being the best person at the skatepark. It’s about challenging yourself, progressing at your own pace, supporting others, and enjoying the ride.

A huge THANK YOU to every participant, family, volunteer, coach, and community member who came out and made this event special. Your energy, encouragement, and enthusiasm are what make events like this possible.

We’re especially grateful to everyone who continues to support our mission of creating more inclusive opportunities through skateboarding.

Our hope is that events like this inspire more families, communities, and organizations to recognize that skateboarding has a place for EVERYONE.

And we’re just getting started! 🚀

Our first ever ADAPTIVE SKATE EVENT was one for the books! 🙌

A day filled with smiles, encouragement, new friendships, and unforgettable moments. Seeing everyone come together to celebrate skateboarding, inclusion, and community reminded us why we do what we do!

September 2015 — these awesome twins were some of THE SKATESIDE’s very first students!

11 years later, our mission is still the same: MORE KIDS SKATING. 🛹🛼

Since those early days, we’ve taught 10,000+ kids through skateboard and roller skating classes, camps, after-school programs, private lessons, and partnerships with schools and cities across Los Angeles.

We’re proud to create a place where kids can learn to skate while building confidence, character, friendships, and a love for being active.
