Culpeper Soccer Club (CSC) provides Culpeper, Virginia and surrounding communities with youth soccer (Travel, Recreation, Academy, Little Comets, TOPS Program) & futsal. 1984 – Culpeper Soccer Association (CSA) begins with just 2 recreation teams.
1986 – The travel program starts with one team.
2004 – CSA starts an All-Star program.
2004 – CSA adds a U5 division.
2005 – The Culpeper Soccer Ass
ociation forms the Culpeper Comets Travel Council to oversee and advance the CSA travel program. Until 2005, there were 8 travel teams acting as individual units, some wearing black and red, some wearing blue and yellow.
2006 – Culpeper Sports Complex opens with 6 full size Bermuda grass fields and becomes the location for all CSA home games.
2006 – CSA adds an inclusive TOPS program for children with special needs.
2007 – CSA adds an end of season Classic recreation tournament.
2007 – CSA receives 501c3 status.
2008 – CSA hires the club’s first part time Technical Director to help build the travel program. The first open tryouts are held for all ages and 3 new teams are added.
2010 – CSA takes the next step and hires a full time Technical Director to help advance all teams within the club.
2010 – CSA adds an Adult League to the club.
2010 – First year for the Annual Culpeper Comets Scrimmage fest.
2011 – CSA institutes a U8 Advanced Development Program (ADP) to provide advanced training by travel coaches to recreational players.
2012 – CSA creates a U4 introduction to soccer program.
2012 – CSA adds an Academy program for U9 and U10 players to provide a bridge between the recreation and travel programs. A Director of Development was hired to provide guidance to this program.
2012 – CSA drops the U16 recreation division and adds U14 and U18 (High School) divisions. CSA now has a program for all players from U4 and up.
2013 – The club adds a U10 ADP to provide advanced training to more recreational players.
2013 – CSA expands its staff to include an Executive Director and Goalkeeper Trainer.
2015 – CSA rebrands it's name and logo to Culpeper Soccer Club.
2020– CSC has grown into a club that offers Recreation youth programs for U4–U19 players, an Academy program for U8-U10 players, Travel programs for U11-U19 players, and a TOPS program. The club currently has more than 1000 players participating locally and regionally at all levels of competition.
2020– CSC now has a volunteer Board of Directors, a full-time Technical Director, a full time Director of Coaching and Player Development, and part-time employees consisting of an Office Manager, Gameday Coordinator, U4 Coordinator(s), Referee Mentor, Travel Registrar and Bookkeeper.
