🚴♂️ About the WCU Cycling Club
The Cycling Club at Western Carolina University (WCU) is a dynamic, student-led team competing in collegiate-level races across the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC) and beyond. We also host and participate in community rides throughout Western North Carolina, fostering a culture of athletic excellence, outdoor adventure, and inclusive engagement.
🌄 Why WCU Is a Cyclist’s Dream
Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, WCU offers unmatched access to premier cycling terrain:
• Road & Gravel: World-class climbs within 5 miles of campus, fast technical descents, and direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
• Mountain Biking: A 6.7-mile single-track trail on campus—now open to the public—accessible via the tunnel near the softball field and Health & Human Sciences building.
• Nearby Destinations: Just a short drive from legendary mountain biking spots like Tsali Recreation Area, Pisgah National Forest, and Bent Creek.
