Not the ending we wanted, but man… what a fight.
We ran into the #1 team in 4A tonight in Deshler High School Tigers, and the scoreboard doesn’t fully tell the story of who this team is. Game one didn’t go our way, but in that second game… we showed exactly what Good Hope baseball is made of. Down to the wire, 3-2, and we had them sweating—just one swing, one play away from forcing a third game. That’s heart. That’s grit. That’s who we are.
This season was special in so many ways. Not just because of the wins, but because of what this group built together. We saw more home runs than ever before, we rewrote parts of the record book with hits, RBIs, runs, stolen bases… and yes, even took one for the team with a record number of hit-by-pitches (thanks Kane 😂). But more than numbers, it was the way this team showed up every single day, competing, believing, and refusing to back down.
To our seniors — thank you will never feel like enough. You committed to this program, you stuck it out through changes, challenges, and growth, and you bought in when it would have been easier not to. You helped lay a foundation that will last far beyond this season. Your fingerprints are all over this program, and what you’ve done here matters more than you probably realize.
You taught the younger guys what it means to compete, to lead, and to care about something bigger than yourself. Because of you, this program is better. Stronger. Hungrier.
This one hurts, and it should. But it also reminds us how far we’ve come and how close we are.
Proud is an understatement. Thankful is an understatement.
Once a Raider, always a Raider. ❤️
