Minnesotan Suomi-koulu (Finnish School of Minnesota) is held in the education wing of historic landmark church Christ Church Lutheran. There is no affiliation or religious instruction at Suomi-koulu, but we enjoy the use of classrooms, a court for sähly (floor hockey) and a kitchen for baking Finnish recipes. But there's more! The architects who designed CCL's construction were renowned Finnish father and son Eero and Eliel Saarinen. Eero Saarinen oversaw the completion of the education wing where Suomi-koulu gathers in 1962. Since then, the church building and its architects have won awards and it has been designated a National Historic Landmark.
