8+ lbs of MUSCLE in just 3 months?! Yep. 👏

Back in May, Shauna started personal training 2x/week to gain strength, add muscle, and sculpt her body after a big weight loss.

Fast forward 3 months of hard work and dedication to her plan, and she’s up +8.8 lbs of muscle, hitting new PRs (hello RDLs at half her bodyweight 🙌), and most importantly - feeling confident in her own skin.

Think you know how much you’re eating? ⬇️

Most people underestimate their food intake by 20–50%!! That can be the difference between seeing results… or staying stuck.

👉 That “just a handful” of nuts?
👉 That “small” pour of dressing?
👉 That “serving” of peanut butter?

It adds up FAST.

And guessing won’t get you to your goals.

When my clients start weighing and tracking their food for the first time, they almost always say things like:

“I had no idea that had so many calories.”
“I’m eating a lot more than I thought.”

It’s not about being obsessive.

It’s about getting real, getting educated, and taking control.

Weighing your food now is what helps you eyeball it with confidence later, so you can actually maintain the results you worked so hard for.

It’s a tool.. not a life sentence.. and it WORKS!

So what does a trainer eat? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m no different than you. I really like food 😆 I’ve just been at this for a while so I’ve learned some things and built some solid habits along the way.

The best advice I can give when it comes to food choices is FIRST- KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Pick a protein and plan your sides around that.

Eat some veggies and fruit at least twice a day.

Stop following silly diets that you can’t stick to. I bet you don’t want to avoid bread for the rest of your life, so don’t choose that to lose weight. Eat in a calorie deficit, that’s the basis of fat loss.

Eat at whatever time you want. You won’t gain or lose fat based on the time of day you eat. Snack at 8pm? Go for it.

Learn to track your food. It’s hard at first, just like anything new, but it SO eye-opening. I do it now because I want to and like to. It helps me keep a structure and know I’m getting enough nutrients and calories.

My calories that my body needs is not what YOUR body needs, so don’t blindly follow these portions just because you think it’s “right”. You are a different person with different energy needs.

I build simple meals (protein, carb, fat, fiber) 90% of the time. Sometimes I throw random items together and call it a day.

Overcomplicating what to eat can keep you stuck for a long time. There’s no perfect meal plan. What will work is what you can stay consistent with.

So start messy. Get better as you go. Think of this as a learning experience that will not only help you now, but in the future too. You’ll be thankful for it 🫶

6 months ago, Tonya came to me lacking confidence and was unsure of where to start to reach her goals. She lost a substantial amount of weight previously, and wanted to get back into lifting weights to rebuild her strength, inside and out, after a tough chapter in her life.

But she needed a real plan and accountability, so we GOT 👏🏼 TO 👏🏼 WORK 👏🏼

Fast forward to today..

✨ Dropped body fat & gained muscle

✨ Stronger in every lift

✨ Feeling more confident in her skin

✨ Clothes fitting better

✨ Moving through deadlifts, RDLs, + overhead presses safely — even with past back/neck issues

✨ Started her pull-up journey with resistance bands and is making serious progress 🔥

We trained together 2x/week, added a solo workout, and built a nutrition plan that took her from under-eating to eating enough for her goals — no crazy restrictions, just sustainable strategy.

She got these amazing results while working a full time job, going on trips with her family, working on house projects, and going through personal life stressors.

This girl is BUSY and still got it done 💪🏼

Tonya didn’t just change her body — she rebuilt her belief in what she’s capable of.

And this is only the beginning. 🙌🏼 Way to go 💪🏼
