The calm before the storm… 🕊️

Tonight I sat here for a minute in the quiet, just looking around and taking it all in. Sometimes you get so caught up in the work, the long days and getting ready for the next group that you forget just how blessed you are.

I get to make a living doing something I truly love, in a place filled with memories, good people, great stories and a whole lot of laughter. I’ll never take that for granted. 🙏

Alright… enough of the sentimental stuff. 😂 Tomorrow it’s GAME ON.

Here’s to sunburns, hangovers, feathers everywhere, Bloody Marys in the morning, cold beer by day and whiskey by night. 🍻🥃 The smell of mesquite fires, steaks on the grill, jalapeño dove poppers cooking, empty hulls hitting the ground and stories getting better every time they’re told.

Tonight she’s quiet… tomorrow this place comes ALIVE.

September 1st sure got here quick! As we kick off tomorrow, I want to wish all my fellow outfitters, guides, hunters, and clients a safe and blessed season.

I pray the Lord watches over everyone in the field. Watch your partners, keep your people hydrated, put safety first, and most importantly — make some damn good memories!

We’re blessed to get another year doing what we love.

Well… I guess we might be getting pretty good at this Bachelor Party — South Texas Style thing!

That’s Bachelor Party #2 booked here at Thompson Hunting Lodge, and these fellas came all the way from Florida to send their buddy into married life the right way — good times, South Texas brush country, a great hunt, and memories with the boys they’ll be talking about for years!

We’ve always said Thompson Hunting Lodge is about more than the hunt. It’s about the experience, the laughs, the stories, and the memories made with the people you came with.

So fellas… if there’s a wedding coming up and you’re tired of the same ol’ bachelor party plans, maybe it’s time to trade the city lights for some South Texas sunsets. 😎
