Virginia Lions Australian Rules Football Club We are the Virginia Lions 💪🦁 - The Pride of Virginia & home of Aussie Rules Footy in Virginia

More than just a Mens and Womens footy team, we aim to connect and collaborate with other athletic and sporting communities and be a family friendly club encouraging all family members to come and have a kick! Based in Richmond-Central VA we're continuing to develop hubs of Aussie Rules Football players & supporters across the Commonwealth of Virginia with strong growth already in Hampton Roads/Vi

Our season runs roughly Spring thru Fall (with a short break mid summer). We have weekly (midweek) practice scheduled at each location and aim to get together Saturdays when games are not scheduled either as a combined or independent location sessions:

RVA: Thu 6pm - Training @ Westhampton Field (corner of Patterson & Maple)
HR/VaBch: 2026 ~ tba
Williamsburg/W&M: 2026 ~ tba
Charlottesville: 2026 ~ tba
Fredericksburg: 2026 ~ tba

Tomorrow, the 7th Annual Mid-Atlantic Cup returns to the best footy field in the Northern Hemisphere at King Family Vineyards.

This year’s format will be a round robin featuring the Virginia Lions, DC Eagles, and North Carolina (with the Charlotte Blue Heelers, NC Tigers, and Wilmington Bombers joining forces to form one side for the day).

First ball-up begins at 11AM:

11:00AM — DC Eagles vs Virginia Lions
1:00PM — DC Eagles vs North Carolina
3:00PM — Virginia Lions vs North Carolina

Tomorrow’s Virginia Lions side is set. While you’ll notice familiar faces, we’ll also have a handful of guest players joining the squad along and sporting the maroon and gold.

For the first time ever, official Mid-Atlantic Cup event merch and t-shirts will be available for purchase at the grounds.

And when the final siren sounds, the social moves to Pro Re Nata Brewery.

Bring a chair. Grab a bottle. Stay for the chaos. See you tomorrow.
