WHAT’S FLYING WEDNESDAY?

Ever watched an RC airplane fly and thought, “I wonder what it’s like to actually fly one?”

You don’t need an airplane.
You don’t need experience.
You don’t even need to know anything about the hobby.

That’s what we’re here for!

Sanilac Model Aviation Club welcomes anyone curious about RC aviation—whether you want to learn to fly, bring the kids out to watch, or just see what this hobby is all about.

Our members don’t fly on a regular set schedule, so send us a message! We’d be happy to answer your questions and help you find a good opportunity to come out and see some flying. 🛩️

🛩️ THROWBACK THURSDAY — SMAC HISTORY!

These photos take us back to the early days of the Sanilac Model Aviation Club, which has been keeping model aviation alive in Sanilac County since 1989!

From 1989 through 2001, club members flew at Red Carter’s Airfield. In 2001, SMAC moved to our current flying field on Harrington Road, about 3.5 miles west of Croswell, where we’re still flying today.

A lot has changed over the years—the airplanes, radios, engines, and faces—but the love of flying and the friendships built at the field remain the same.

36+ years of flying, friendship, and keeping model aviation alive—and we’re not done yet!

🔧✈️ TECH TIP TUESDAY

Did you know RC airplanes use the same basic controls as full-size aircraft?

Ailerons roll, the elevator controls pitch, and the rudder controls yaw.

Now you know what those moving parts are doing next time you see us flying! ✈️
