Coach on Blast 🥊 here we go!!!
I’m putting myself on blast and asking for accountability.
I’m 46 years old, 172 pounds, and my goal is to step into the ring for my first Masters boxing match at age 47 and compete at 150 pounds.
Now before anybody gets too excited…
I’ve got a knee that sounds like microwave popcorn every time I stand up.
My shoulders have more miles on them than some used pickup trucks.
I make noises getting off the couch that would concern medical professionals.
I’m a full-time mom, full-time employee, full-time coach, and apparently I’ve decided becoming a boxer is a good idea too.
Most days I’m not sure if I’m tired, sore, hungry, dehydrated, or just 46.
My recovery plan currently consists of prayer, coffee, and wondering where I left my reading glasses.
But through all the laughs, I genuinely feel God calling me to this challenge.
This isn’t about trying to be 25 again. It’s about walking in purpose, staying faithful, and proving that growth doesn’t stop just because birthdays keep showing up.
Over the next year you’ll see the good, the bad, the ugly, the roadwork, the weight loss, the training sessions, and probably a few videos of me questioning my life choices halfway through a workout.
So I’m asking for two things:
Hold me accountable.
And pray for me.
Pray for my knee.
Pray for my shoulders.
Pray for my schedule.
Pray for my sanity.
And most importantly, pray that I stay focused on Christ and the purpose behind the journey.
One year.
22 pounds.
One Masters fight.
Several ice packs.
One purpose.
