Pell City FC is now accepting Player Interest Forms for the upcoming Academy season.

If your player was born between 2015–2020 and is serious about improving, we want to hear from you.

At Pell City FC, we’ve built a proven development model focused on technical growth, confidence on the ball, creativity, soccer IQ, and preparing players to compete at the highest levels in the state. Over the years, we’ve consistently developed players who go on to compete at elite levels and make major impacts at the varsity level early in their high school careers.

What makes us different is our focus on long-term player development — especially during the “golden years” of development. We believe starting players young in the right environment creates a tremendous technical foundation that stays with them for years to come.

That’s why we are heavily focused on expanding our youngest age groups:
• U7
• U8
• U9
• U10

We want young players who love the game, want to learn, and are ready to be challenged in a positive, competitive environment.

Our Academy emphasizes:
• Ball mastery and technical development
• 1v1 confidence and creativity
• Soccer IQ and decision-making

We are also accepting select late 2014 birth-year players (August–December birthdays) due to the upcoming school-year age group alignment.

⚽ Now Open: PCFC Summer 3v3 Development Program — Summer 2026

Keep your player sharp all summer long! Our new Summer 3v3 Development Program is built for fast, competitive, small-sided soccer where every player is always involved — more touches, more 1v1 battles, faster decisions, and a whole lot more confidence.

This summer we're focusing on ages 7–12, and you don't have to be a Pell City FC Academy member to join — it's open to all players.

What to expect:

8 weeks / 16 sessions
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00–7:30 PM
June 2 – July 28
Focus on ball mastery, 1v1 attacking, finishing, speed of play, and transitions
Optional 3v3 Live tournaments throughout the summer
Just $160 for the full program
In 3v3, players can't hide — everyone attacks, everyone defends, everyone grows.

PCFC Summer Clinics Are Back!

We’re excited to announce another summer of technical development training at Pell City FC. These sessions are designed to help players improve their touch, confidence, creativity, ball mastery, and overall soccer IQ heading into the fall season.

Our clinics focus on individual player development through high-repetition technical training, 1v1 moves, passing and receiving, finishing, speed and agility work, possession, and competitive small-sided games.

2026 SUMMER CLINIC OPTIONS

Ages 7–18: 16 Sessions | 27 Hours of Training

• Full Summer Package — $500
• 9-Session Package — $300
• Pay-As-You-Go — $50 per session

Ages U6 and Below: 7 One-Hour Sessions

• Full Summer Package — $200
• Pay-As-You-Go — $50 per session

These are not recreational camps. These are structured development sessions built for players who want to improve technically and continue progressing throughout the summer.

In addition to summer clinics, we’ll also be announcing our PCFC 3v3 Training Program for players interested in learning the speed, spacing, movement, and creativity involved in competitive 3v3 soccer. If your player is interested in summer tournaments, now is a great time to start forming teams within your age group.

🚫 The Burnout Myth in Youth Soccer 🚫

A few years ago, I had the chance to sit down with one of Belgium’s top coaches, Herman Vermeulen. What he told me completely reframed how I think about youth sports in America:

“In Belgium, we only have soccer. That’s why we’re great at it.”

So if Belgian kids focus on soccer year-round and thrive…
Why do we keep saying early specialization causes burnout?

💥 Burnout isn’t caused by playing too much soccer.
💥 It’s caused by pressure, disconnection, and joyless environments.

When kids love what they’re doing, they don’t burn out — they go all in.

🌟 Spring Soccer Registration Closing Soon! 🌟

We’re wrapping up registration for our spring season, and only a few spots remain for the following age groups:

2013: 1 spot available – Must have a solid technical base as this is the final eligible season for this age group.
2016: 4 spots available
2017: 2 spots available
2018: 4 spots available

📢 For our younger players (2016-2018), prior soccer experience isn’t required – we’ll teach them! However, it’s crucial they’re athletic and can attend training consistently to ensure progress.

💡 Our 2014 and 2015 teams are at capacity, but we may consider exceptional players on a case-by-case basis.
