Yesterday afternoon the lake was quiet. A good time for teaching someone to ski or dock a boat or take a slow ride to look at all the beautifully landscaped home gardens but by 5 p.m. Hwy 231 had a parade of cars pulling boats with people readying themselves for the weekend. Pictures are from the hour or so before weekenders started to arrive at St Clair Shores. Now post your pictures of your family and friends over the weekend doing what you do!

One holiday of the summer in the books and before you know it, it will be Fourth of July! This nation will be celebrating 250 yrs and St Clair Shores and Pocomo Parks have been here for nearly 60 of those. Martin Smith had a vision when Alabama Power was planning on building the dam. He knew there would be a need for a place for people to enjoy the lake that was to come. More of this story later. It is still a great spot for recreation! Post your Memorial Day or just summer photos here of time spent on the property!

Tomorrow will be the unofficial beginning of summer on Logan Martin. This weekend the water will be filled with a variety of watercraft, scooting along between rain showers. The summer people will have grills fired up and all their water toys cleaned up. Many of those summer people will be at St Clair Shores or Pocomo Parks. If you don't have your spot yet, you may find the perfect place for you and yours just waiting for you. It may not be waterfront, but can be water view, and there will be a pier waiting for you to dock that sea-do or boat. Come on down!

Weekend is over, Lake Fest is in the past, the boats are in dry dock awaiting school dismissal for the summer and St Clair Shores and Pocomo have quiet spots to enjoy yourself.

There was a cool breeze making the sunshine feel good as it washed over the skin. Perfect temperature. Not so many boats that the waves rattled the riders. Green and lush yards with color everywhere. A perfect Mother's Day on Logan Martin and an especially perfect one if you started and ended it at St Clair Shores. Lots of "summer folks" enjoying their first day of the season cooking out, sunning, cleaning winter dust away, playing in the yard, relaxing under a shade tree, or boating. There are very few lots left! Don't wait!
