Hello, there will be a public meeting at 5pm tomorrow, Tuesday January 20th 2026 to hear a presentation regarding th results of an Engineering Study to fix the drainage problems at WIS. Multiple options for fixes will be proposed and the public is encouraged to attend and ask questions during public comment. The WIS fields have long been a problem and we are hoping to explore solutions and understand the impact and cost of each proposal. See you tomorrow. It will also be streaming on YouTube.

Congratulations to our Cromwell Champion U12 Chill Soccer Team! This week at the Town Council we presented the team a proclamation to celebrate their remarkable teamwork and achievement. Full comments below.

The Cromwell Chill U12 Girls Soccer Team has brought immense pride and distinction to the Town of Cromwell through their remarkable success and unwavering dedication during the 2025 season; and the Cromwell Chill U12 Girls achieved the prestigious title of 2025 Connecticut Cup Champions, marking a historic milestone as the first team to bring home the coveted trophy in the club's 35-year history;

This exceptional team is composed primarily of young ladies born and raised in Cromwell, many of whom have played together since the age of five under the continuous guidance of the same committed coaching staff and these athletes demonstrated extraordinary commitment, often practicing rain or shine, cold or hot, navigating the ups and downs of competitive play with resilience, courage, and a collective commitment to never giving up, always striving for better and bigger achievements.

The team’s consistent potential was evident through their impressive string of previous victories, including a three-peat as Champions of the Father's Weekend Newington Tournament in 2023, 2024, and 2025, winning their league championship, and earning the title of Central/North District A Division League Champions in 2024; and more victories throughout their soccer career.

Beyond the field, these young women exemplify true leadership and sportsmanship, excelling as multi-sport athletes and high academic students, demonstrating that they are much more than just "girls who play soccer," but outstanding representatives of our community.

Our very own U12 Girls team are champions!

This group of girls have been showing us how special they are for years as they've competed in the highest division in the central/north central region of CJSA. Now they add a state level championship and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work and tenacity.

An additional congratulations to their volunteer coaches and parents. Youth soccer takes a village and this village is strong!

Connecticut Junior Soccer Association has officially crowned its champions for the Fall Connecticut Cup Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods.

Your Lady Panthers are back at home to take on our neighboring town of Portland with an evening 6pm start tonight, Thursday, September 18th!!

It’s also Cromwell Chill night, where the U7/U8 girls will be scrimmaging at halftime!

Please also check out the concession stand, where we will be featuring special Cromwell Panthers gibbets, as well as other snacks and refreshments!

Let’s show support for both our CHS lady Panthers and Cromwell Chill clubs with a big turnout for this special Cromwell community event!

Hello Cromwell Soccer Families,

On February 3rd there was a special meeting for the public and town council to discuss the current and future state of Cromwell's athletic fields. The town council has requested additional input from residents on this topic. This is a critical opportunity to influence the town council's decisions and shape the athletic experience for our community.

The Mayor and town council were very impressed with the 212(!) signatures on our petition to install a turf field at the middle school. They requested we reach out to our community with a brief survey to further understand the public's desires.

This survey will take you less than 5 minutes to complete.

Please answer the following questions to help our town leadership prioritize potential improvements to athletic fields. The cost associated with these projects are not entirely known at this time and are represented with $. More $ mean higher cost ($ - $$$$)

Cromwell soccer families have an opportunity to lobby for the installation of a turf field as part of the new Cromwell Middle School construction project.

According to Mayor James Demetriades, the Middle School project is currently running a surplus of approximately $4M from bid savings, which allows the council to discuss enhancing the planned regular grass field to an artificial turf field. The additional cost of an artificial turf field is estimated at $1M

The benefits of a turf field to our soccer community are long. For example:

Durability and Consistency
Weather Resistance
High Traffic Tolerance
Consistent Playing Surface
Low Maintenance
No Mowing, Watering, and Re-lining
Lower Long-Term Costs
Extended Playing Time
Weather Resistance allows for earlier and later seasons
High Traffic Tolerance allows more practices and games
The council is discussing the topic at their meeting on Wednesday January 8th and we should show our support through this petition before and during that meeting.
