2024 Breck Epic Prep visited Richardson Bike Fit for MTB specific fit, including setting correct saddle height based on sag, rech adjustment to improve handling, and pressure mapping for the long days in the saddle.
Of note the biggest and unexpected change was going from Garmin pedals (which added 5mm stack height) to XTRs to bring down the foot angle to 20.2 and open up the upper hip angle to 71.2. This allows faster power transfer and reduces calf fatigue in long endurance events.
Chris used his expertise to not only improve MTB position, but also made adjustments to his Gravel setup. Simply taking the road position and adapting it to MTB /Gravel may look fast but is not always efficient and reduces performance in the long run.
Visit Richardson Bike Fit and Bike Doctor Arnold this winter to see how they can help your 2024 Gravel, MTB or Road campaign and achieve racing/training goals.
