Our Fit Philosophy
Richardson Bike Fit’s mission is to help each client achieve their cycling and performance goals by providing a professional bike fit catered to their specific needs. It is our belief and working principle that speed, comfort, and power are integrated and each is achieved by addressing these aspects of cycling performance together as a whole. Our passion is to help all cyclists,
no matter their level of experience, body type, or goals, reach their highest potential. We offer fits for all types of cyclists—road, gravel and mountain bike riders. A Modern Approach
It’s about finding the best fit solution for you. Our process is built on 20+ years of experience with world renowned fitters, bike manufacturer training and industry knowledge. We use this experience combined with technology and data to ensure the body is performing optimally on the bike. FAQ
What should I bring along for my bike fit appointment besides my bike? The clothes you wear riding (cycling shorts and jersey or comfortable workout clothing)
Pedals and cycling shoes (cycling socks)
Orthotics (even if you don’t currently use them cycling)
Towel to use while on the trainer or GURU bike
Can I get fit on more than one bike? We like to work on addressing the fit on one bike before making changes across multiple bikes. We want you to be 100% satisfied with your fit and the outcomes we achieve together before we make changes to your other bikes. We think it is important for you to ride the bike for a few weeks to make that determination. Once you have time to fully evaluate the fit, we can fit you on other bikes at a reduced rate (see the Services menu for pricing). When you schedule your appointment, we will email you an in depth intake form including questions that will help you start thinking about your goals for the fit and will provide us with important data and information about you and your needs. Please follow the link in the email to complete the intake form before your fit. What type of bike fitting system or technology do you use? We believe the most important tool we bring to a fit solution is our sincere interest in listening to our clients needs and feedback, Chris’ observation of the client as he make changes, and his 20+years of experience as a bike fitter. Chris’ approach to fitting is an amalgamation of all the systems he has studied over the years. Chris’ certifications and eduction include:
International Bike Fitting Institute (IBFI) Level 4
Fit Kit Level 1, 2, 3, & Advanced Certification
Trek Precision Fit school 1 & 2 with pressure mapping w/ Paric McGlynn
GURU DFU Certified
FIST w/ Dan Empfield
Foot Balanced Certified
Michael Sylvester Fit School (Trek)
Seven Custom Bike School w/ Neil Doshi
Waterford Fit Master w/ Richard Schwinn
Mat Steinmetz Aero Bike Fit Trained
These fundamentals are enhanced by the following technology:
GURU DFU fitting bike, an infinitely adjustable bike that allows us to make changes to a bike fit and position and to observe and record changes such as power output
Motion Capture Video imaging to observe body metrics dynamically
Foot Balance custom insoles
GebioMized Saddle Pressure Mapping
How long does a bike fit take? Please refer to the fit services menu for time estimations of each fit service offered. Where do I park? There are parking spots directly in front of the fit studio. We are on the first floor so you have easy access in and out of the studio. We are more than happy to help you bring in your bike and equipment. What is your cancellation policy? If you have to cancel or reschedule 24 hours or less from your appointment, there is a cancellation fee of 50% of whatever fit services you have booked.
