Missouri Hunting and Outdoor Adventures

Missouri Hunting and Outdoor Adventures Outfitters and owners Don, Robert and Rick Mihalevich invite you to join us for Missouri whitetail deer and turkey hunting located in the Missouri Ozarks.

Situated on 1,350 acres of prime hunting country in Camden and Pulaski counties, MHOA is a hunter's paradise. Through our own experience of hunting on this property and the continuing use of trail cameras we've set up over 50 blinds, tree and box stands in locations that have consistently produced great results for our hunters.

We planted our food plots in early September and then went 5 weeks without rain. We finally received a few inches and had good germination results. This and the cooler temperatures brought about some daytime activity in a few plots as the deer found the new greenery. We still need more rain to keep them growing.
It's a bit early to judge the acorn crop this year. We know many oaks were stunted by the drought in some places but there could be other areas where there is a good supply of acorns.
Happy Hunting!

Facebook Friends,

After 13 unforgettable years of operating Missouri Hunting & Outdoor Adventures, LLC, we—Don, Rob, and Rick Mihalevich—have made the decision to transition from a full-service outfitting business to a private hunting lease arrangement starting with the 2026 turkey and deer seasons.
This shift will allow us to spend more time enjoying the land we love, while stepping back from the day-to-day responsibilities of running an outfitting operation. It’s a bittersweet decision. Over the years, we’ve been privileged to build lasting relationships with so many of you, and we deeply value the friendships and shared memories made along the way.
We've had the honor of welcoming hunters from more than 35 states, and through those connections, we’ve witnessed the unifying spirit of sportsmanship that defines this community.
If you would like one last opportunity to hunt with us, we still have a few openings for the muzzleloader season. If so, give us a call at (573) 723-1899.
We’ll continue to maintain our website, page, email, and MHOA phone number for a period of time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’d love to stay in touch and hear how your future adventures unfold. Thank you for being part of our journey. We wish you continued success, unforgettable hunts, and lasting memories in the great outdoors.

With appreciation,
Don, Rob, and Rick Mihalevich

Even with the milder temperatures, most of the deer activity remains nocturnal. As a result, some of the details are lost in the night shots but if you zoom in you can see many nice racks in the group. The close up pictures from camera MHOA 17 are from a blind in the soybean field. Let's hope that these bucks come out here in the daylight during deer season.
For us the season begins this week as we will be putting in our fall plots this Thursday and Friday. We will be planting brassicas and cereal grains once again. We can only hope to receive more rainfall this year than last when we went 6 weeks without significant rain. As many of you know, with all of the planning, expense and labor the success of the plots is mostly determined by the weather.

We will soon be planting our fall food plots. Other than soy beans, our spring plots were not very successful. Early there were heavy rains one after another. Lately, it has been very dry and hot. If we can get our fall plots in before a forecasted rain, we should have better success.
As mentioned, our bean plots continue to attract large numbers of deer. Even our lesser plots draw nice deer. Included in the photos below, is one just after sunset with just the last of the day's sun rays. You may have to zoom in but it shows 5 nice bucks chowing down on some beans. Many other shooter bucks in other areas of the property as well.

We will have some news to share in our next post so keep stopping by our page.

Antlers are starting to pop! 🦌
It’s always exciting to watch the bucks begin to grow their racks this time of year, and we’re already seeing some impressive antler development.

Our soybeans are thriving again this season and pulling in a solid number of deer and turkeys. With the hot, dry weather, we’ve shifted more trail cameras to water sources and food plots to keep tabs on movement.

We’re also using more video footage this year—it’s been a game-changer for learning how deer are entering and exiting key areas, and gives us a much better look at their behavior.

Looking forward to what the next few weeks bring! Stay tuned for updates. 🎥🌿🦃

It's been a successful first week of the regular season. The rain held off and the mornings were cool, crisp and sunny; perfect hunting conditions.
The Tom's have been vocal and active and hunters have worked birds everyday. As a result, the 8 hunters have taken 6 birds, including 2 at 22 pounds along with a 24 and 25 pounder. Big birds! There have been many great stories of their encounters with gobblers including some that didn't end in a kill but were exciting none the less.
6 hunters (now friends) from Louisiana are in and they regularly have successful hunts so we are expecting more birds will be down over the next few days.

We had a late cancellation which opened some dates on the calendar. Great deals are available on 2, 3 or 4 day hunts. Give us a call at 573-723-1899 or email at [email protected] to get the details.

Youth turkey season is our favorite hunting weekend of the year. It's great to see these young men enjoying an opportunity to have an exciting day in the woods with their dads. This weekend didn't disappoint.
Reed and Sawyer each bagged nice birds Saturday morning following a few hours of tough hunting and fine calling by their dads. Our third hunter, Asher, had a couple of opportunities that, unfortunately, ended in missed shots but they were exciting hunts.
They even had time for a little fishing.
Great job, guys. We look forward to seeing you again.

The redbuds are in full bloom and the dogwoods are beginning to show. That means that spring is coming to the Ozarks and Turkey season is just around the corner.
We are busy getting prepared for our youth hunters coming in this weekend. We always enjoy hosting these young hunters and see them enjoy their time outdoors with their dads. We are seeing more strutting on our cameras so the birds should be ready to begin responding to calls. It should be a great weekend!
We still have a slot or 2 open for the regular season so give us a call at 573-723-1899 or send an email to [email protected] if you are looking for an exciting hunt.

We are seeing large numbers of turkeys all across the property. The amount of strutting is picking up along with the gobbling. Our 5 acre soybean food plot has proven to be a great food source throughout the winter for many turkey and deer.
Youth Season is less than 2 weeks away and we are anxious for these young hunters to experience a wonderful weekend of hunting. They should have a great opportunity to get a turkey in range.

We do have a few slots still open during the regular season, so if you are looking for a great hunting experience on a beautiful piece of the Ozarks, give us a call: 573-723-1899 or email at [email protected]

We have our first deer down and it's a beauty. The hunter had observed several bucks yesterday afternoon so all the signs indicated there was a hot doe in the area. He saw this deer at a distance for quite some time before he finally moved into range and he dropped him right there.
This group has faced mid-80s temperatures with winds 25-30 mph each day which restricted deer movement. We finally began to see more scrapes and rubs and signs that there were does coming into heat. Cooler temps for the next few days should also help get them moving.
We may not be seeing them but there are bunch of fine bucks to be had. We hope to see more of these guys in front of hunters soon.

We continue to be busy preparing for our first group of hunters who arrive next week. Much of the work involves preparing all of our stands which consist of 47 ladder stands, 5 tower stands and 16 blinds. This entails checking and tightening all of the straps, clearing shooting lanes, mowing and trimming all of the trails and marking the paths to the blinds. We also built a new 6x6 blind to replace a soft-side bling. In addition, we have relocated 2 stands to new areas based upon recent scouting.
Speaking of scouting, it always nice to capture big bucks on cameras. Here are some we hope you enjoy.

Happy Hunting!
