It was a honor to spend a few hours celebrating this young lady yesterday! Brooke “Cookie” Wilson is the definition of an athlete that is a coaches dream! Always smiling, will do anything that is asked of her, if she doesn’t understand something, she asks questions, always cheering on her teammates, the list goes on. A kid and family that truly “Trusted the process!” I know I put you in some difficult positions over the years but I knew you had it in you. I am beyond proud! Now go be great, kiddo! And don’t forget to send me pictures and a schedule when yiu get settled in! Mary Baldwin is getting a good one! ❤️🥎

To all my players, parents, fans and coaches,

Unfortunately, I was scared this day would come. With my players aging out, players moving on in their careers and committed players taking the season off, it is with great sadness I must dissolve the Starz Gold Estep team effective 1/17/2025.

After 25+ years of coaching, I am torn! It saddens me and breaks my heart to see our legacy come to an end. I have had many sleepless nights contemplating what to do, praying to the lord, and trying to decide what is best for the team. I even made a Pro/Con list to see where the team stands. If you truly know me, you know how passionate, committed, and dedicated I am to this team and how difficult a decision this was for me!

With all that said and tears running down my face, I wish all my past and present players the best of luck in whatever they decide to do in life. If you remember anything from me, I hope you take with you these items of wisdom.

1. Place God FIRST in everything you do! Faith over Fear!

2. It’s not how you start, it’s always how you finish! Never give up nor give in, no matter what life throws at you!

3. Finally, if you ever need me, don’t hesitate to reach out! I will always be here for you!

To all my parents,
Thank you for putting your trust in me. Without all of you, we couldn’t have been successful for all these years! It has truly been a blessing hanging out with so many great people. I also extend my offer to you guys! If you ever need me, I am only a phone call away.

To all of our fans,
Thank you for supporting us in all those fundraisers! You were truly the backbone that made us successful!

To the college coaches and the private lesson coaches,
I cannot express my gratitude enough! From the bottom of my heart Thank you for showing up to watch us game after game, season after season. The wisdom you passed on, to not only me, but to the players, was truly a blessing. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need any assistance from me or just to chat! (maybe have dinner)

To Tom Bunn and the Starz Gold organization,
Thank you for giving the little country girls a chance to be a part of a wonderful organization! Tom Bunn and gang, you are top notch! Keep doing what you do and don't hesitate to reach out to me if you ever need me! Who knows, after a little rest, I may coach another national/regional team soon.
