Prayer of Connection & Story:

LORD, here I am and here we are on this Tuesday. It’s hard to know ourselves apart from seeing ourselves in You and the safety of others who are for us. You have wired and created us to connect as human beings. We are never meant to live life in isolation and carry out life by ourselves. The stories in us exist and emerges to be shared; expressed where we are heard, seen, known, and loved where we are. Help us continue to share our stories of hope, suffering, uncertainty, joys, dreams, lament, and desire. Grant us simple trust. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Prayer to Be Present:

LORD, here I and and here we are on this Tuesday. Pausing...Slowing down to breathe and breathe out...Being aware of who we are and whose we are...Engaging in prayer. We so often feel the pull and push of mornings and our day; finding ourselves in a place that in You we move, live, and have our being. Help us love You with our entire being as we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We are invited to be with You so we can discern how to show up and be known in our particular contexts today — home, work, relationships, etc. May Your nearness be our good. Grant us simple trust. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Prayer of Uniqueness:

LORD, here I am and here we are on this Thursday. Reminded and celebrating once again that I am one of a kind. All of us here on earth are wonderfully and astonishingly unique human beings. There will be no one like us to show up in the future. Our names, genetic make up, personalities, smiles, gifts, stories, and talents are all one of a kind. Help us steward who we are created and called to be in this time and history. Help us be the best version of us today and no one else because everyone else is taken. Grant us simple trust. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Prayer of Stability:

LORD, here I am and here we are on this Tuesday. Finding our footing as we make our trek through this day. With many possibilities and opportunities; twists and turns we step out with curiosity and courage. We are people who have spoken and unspoken expectations. Would you help us live and receive life today more with a spirit of expectancy; compassion towards ourselves and towards others. Grant us simple trust. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Prayer to Pause & Slow Down:
LORD, here I am and here we are on this Friday. Pausing...Slowing down...Drawn to pray. Aware by grace we are who we are. In You, we live, move, and have our being. We lament by naming what is wrong, disordered in the world, and keeping us from flourishing. We give thanks by celebrating the small, medium, and big wins in life. We hope by choosing to show patient courage because whole-hearted love casts out fear. Grant us simple trust. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Prayer to Pause & Acknowledge:
LORD, here I am and here we are on this Wednesday. In all the uncertainty of this year and still awaiting election results, we turn once again to You in prayer. Creator, Sustainer, and Friend in our lives and to this world. Every dimension and angle of our lives is of immense interest and concern to You. We pause to take a deep breath and breathe out this present moment. You are not anxious about us. You are lovingly in our here and now. You are graciously pursuing us today. Grant us simple trust. In Jesus' name. Amen

LORD, here I am and here we are. Coming to You as best we can, but not trusting our best on this Saturday. Letting go of outcomes and taking upon Your easy yoke of partnership and participation of Love. Learning from You because You are gentle and humble of heart. We long for Your promised rest for our souls. Renew our desires. Revive our wills from making a lot of decisions this past week. Bring healing and restoration to our bodies where we feel chronic headaches, arthritic pain, back or shoulder pain, and autoimmune disease flare ups. Grant us reflection and humility to give thanks for all helpers (family, friendships, neighbors, grocery team members, restaurant personnel, medical providers, counselors, professors, ministers, etc.) You’ve sent our way when we found ourselves stressed, fearful, flustered, and stuck this past week. We surrender to You our day with simple trust. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30

LORD, here I am and here we are. You are my Shepherd and I have everything I need this Friday. Your Goodness and Mercy not only meet me wherever I am this morning but will pursue me wherever I find myself today. You are HERE. You are aware of what I and others will face today. Whatever may come through the national news or social media outlets or in conversations, we are not alone to wrestle with these thoughts and emotions. We are not alone to struggle with these rapid changes at home, at work, in our society, in our relationships, with our health, and the unknowns. Our certainties and connections in life have been shaken and have forever changed and I am not alone, even if I feel alone and others feel utterly desperate. We grieve and we don’t like what we feel these days. Reassure us with Your grace and hope to stabilize our yo-yo of feelings. Refresh our minds, hearts, and bodies by reminding us that You are with us, behind us, before us, above us, and underneath us, walking beside us, and in us. Grant us simple faith in Christ. Amen

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - Isaiah 41:10

Prayer of Becoming

Lord, here here I am and here we are. My thoughts, emotions, and body can get going and stirring fast these past few days. I am learning to show up and be known that life is not just happening to me, but for me. You are for me and with me this Thursday! Even when everything around me is not well. Help me know that ultimately my soul is well with You. With the rush of so many potential changes, twists, and turns on this given day, our bodies are overwhelmed easier and our mental/emotional bandwidth has become thin sooner. We want to fix whatever is broken and make right what is wrong and move towards resolved, but it’s who we are becoming inwardly and outwardly that You are pursuing with grace. It’s not just what we do for You and others, but in the manner, You would do it if You were in our shoes. Help us pause and imagine with You how we would think/feel/act/live out social distancing, homeschooling, work, relationships, projects, problems, opportunities, deficits, liabilities, decisions, conversations, zoom meetings, walks, leisures, struggles, and sufferings. It’s never just us and what we are called to do, but it is this ”with God” life. Help us believe in Your Strength, Wisdom, and Love. Grant us simple trust with You this Thursday. Amen.

“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39

Prayer for Being Present

LORD, here I am. Pausing. Slowing down. Inhaling and exhaling. Noticing that before the rush of the day comes and react, I acknowledge You. You are Present with me and I am with You. You are a Good Parent who calls me Your own. You will parent me through Monday’s vulnerabilities, challenges, and changes. You are the great I AM. I am beloved. I am seen in my lament. My weariness. My anxiousness. My frustrations. My doubts. My uncertainties. My hopelessness. And when my heart and flesh fail me, You are the Strength of my heart and my portion forever. Your Nearness is my good on this Monday. May I listen to Your invitations throughout this day. May I learn that You are gentle and humble of heart and I will find rest for my soul. May I love others well as You have loved me well. Help me to live this “with God” life with simple trust. In Jesus' name, Amen!

But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works. - Psalm 73:28
