If you are in our NWFL area and looking for summer camps for your kids elementary - high school, check out the FREE camps offered the HSU Foundation. Classes at both their Fort Walton Beach and Crestview locations. Not sure if your child is into STEM this is a great way to see. Must go to their EventBrite page to register and spots are limited.

Good afternoon everyone! We wanted to share that we will be holding our first off season practices this Friday from 5-630. If you are interested in learning how to build and code a Lego Spike Prime robot for fun or to join a competition team please come to this off season practices. Parents are encouraged to attend but not mandatory. Space is limited as we do run this team out of our home so let us know if you plan on attending. No cost to come and learn.

We are recruiting new team members for the upcoming season 2026-2027. We are looking to start holding off season practices after the interest meeting on April 11th at 10am at the Crestview Library. Please come and attend if your student is interested in joining the competition team. These students will learn how to block code in the off season. We will discuss what a competition team entails, practices, and cost. We hope to see those interested at the meeting.

This past weekend the team participated in the qualifier event at Shoal River Middle School. While they did not advance they learned a lot this season. They have gained insight on research, putting together an innovation project, building, coding, and most importantly how to work together as a team with people they didn't know until the season started. A team of 2 ended as a team of 3 and a lasting friendship. We will continue to improve our skills during the off season and root on our older FIRST Tech Challenge Team the FTC Techy Wild Lions #30359 as they continue with their season. We want to thank our sponsors, our coaches,mentors, and our parents for their continued support as we learn and grow in the world of Robotics. Thank you Doolittle Institute STEM Outreach for putting on such a great event. Not only did you facilitate a great FIRSTLego League Qualifier event but also simultaneously putting on a FIRST Tech Challenge event making it look effortless.

We may be a small team this year and new they may be brand new to FIRST Lego League but they conquered their fears and handled their first practice event at Freeport High School like champions. They improved each time they went up to the table. 5 weeks to prep for their qualifier event.

Thank you Doolittle Institute STEM Outreach for putting on these events for teams in our region. Also a big thank you to our older kiddos on FTC Techy Wild Lions #30359 for volunteering at this event. Your guidance and mentoring of not only our team but the other 32 teams at this event was greatly appreciated. These kids are doing amazing. While our team maybe small they are doing great things. They have worked on a strategy plan this past weekend and we're able to get 2 missions completed with consistency all while working on their skills in coding, communication and team work. Please continue to follow them throughout their season to see all the great things they are accomplishing.
