Updated Dates and an Exciting Announcement
Since the last update, an exciting opportunity has been presented to our group and range! We have been selected to host the PRS Regional 22 Finale. This has been awarded to us, mainly because of you - the shooters. We have always had great attendance to our matches and we have made great efforts to have fair and competitive courses of fire for all the attendees. This was recognized by the regional directors and leadership. Thanks to you for keeping our club strong and supporting it!
Now, this throws a wrench in my proposed dates, as I was planning our HLOA Finale in September. That date is needed to be used for the Regional PRS finale, so that scores can get to the PRS and season points updated, for those going to the National Finale. Due to this our local series will be a little shorter, but if you are a PRS Rimfire member, you will have the opportunity to shoot both Finale matches at our range! Shooters who want to compete within the Regional Rimfire Standings and be eligible to attend the Regional and National Finales will be required to purchase a $30 PRS Rimfire membership ($20 for Juniors). If not a member, I will be looking for ROs for the PRS Finale. What a great way to give back to the range and Match Directors that have been working for you all year long! I also want to remind you that we host more matches than any other range in our region, allowing you to get the points you need to be competitive without traveling much.
Here are the dates we have locked in with the PRS Rimfire Midwest Series and the person/people responsible for the Course of Fire and Match Directing.
April 16th - Rocky Baker and Austin Berry
May 21st - Brent
June 18th - Stephens and Austin Berry
July 23rd - Brent
Aug 20th - Brent - Rimfire Revolution Finale
Sept 24th - PRS Regional Finale match - Brent
I would also like to make a slight change, but need some input here, so feel free to comment. As we have grown, people are traveling further distances to attend our matches. We have been running seven stages, but I would like to increase this to eight to ten stages per event. This will get more shooting in and make up for the shortened series. I know some people like to shoot and get home in a short time frame, so we will kinda play this by ear.
I am looking forward to the season and am excited about putting on another good year of matches!
