With the approval of her parents, we make this heartbreaking post:
Heavy hearts weigh on the entire South Granville softball community today as we mourn the tragic loss of our teammate, friend, and sister on the diamond, Emma Wallace #17 a Junior at SGHS.

Emma was so much more than just a player on our roster. Her bright light, relentless hustle, and deep love for the game brought endless energy to the dugout and everyone around her. Whether she was making a play, cheering on her teammates, or flashing that unforgettable smile, Emma made us better—not just as athletes, but as people.

Our hearts ache beyond words for her father, Coach Tony Wallace, who has recently been named the South Granville Softball Head Coach. Tony, please know that the entire Viking family wraps their arms around you, your family, and everyone who loved Emma. We are walking with you through this unimaginable pain.

Number 17 will forever hold a sacred place on our field and in our hearts. Rest easy, sweet girl. We will play every inning moving forward for you.

🥎💙 Leading the Next Chapter of Viking Softball! 💙🥎
South Granville High School is excited to announce Coach Tony Wallace as the new Head Softball Coach!

Coach Wallace brings 22 years of law enforcement experience, including 9 years with the Creedmoor Police Department and the past 8 years serving as our School Resource Officer. He brings 14 years of coaching experience in both baseball and softball.
Throughout his career, he has built strong relationships with students, families, and our community while demonstrating leadership, integrity, and a commitment to serving others.
We are thrilled for Coach Wallace to lead our softball program and continue our tradition of excellence, sportsmanship, and developing student-athletes who compete with character both on and off the field.

A massive thank you to Dr. Winborne and Mike Carroll for paving our softball hill entrance. This makes our field so much more accessible for wheelchair users, making it easier for all of our fans, family, and supporters to come cheer us on.

South Granville High School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and driven Head Softball Coach to lead our Lady Vikings softball program!
If you have a strong knowledge of the game, a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field, and a desire to build on a tradition of excellence, we need you to apply.
Position Details:
Role: Varsity Head Softball Coach
Location: South Granville High School
What we need: High energy, strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of softball mechanics and strategy. Previous high school coaching experience and knowledge of NCHSAA rules is a plus.

🥎 Heartbreak on the Diamond, But Pride in Our Hearts
It wasn’t the ending we envisioned, but what a journey it’s been. Tonight, our South Granville season came to an end in Round 1 of the NCHSAA Playoffs against a tough Western Alamance team. While the scoreboard might not have gone our way, it doesn't take away from the grit, sweat, and heart this team poured into every single inning this year.

To Our Seniors: The Newest Members of the Alumni Family

Tonight, we hang up three very special jerseys. Avery Wilson, Tiatana Bates, and Kala Cannady—you three have been the heartbeat of this dugout.

Avery: Thank you for your leadership and for setting the standard of what it means to be a Viking.

Tiatana: Your energy and hustle have been an inspiration to the younger players.

Kala: Your dedication to the game and this team has left a lasting mark on this program.
