Another amazing CanAm in the books 📚 This year we upped our game, competing in the Club Division on the pitch and coordinating a multitude of events off it 🏉🎉

It was a success on all fronts. The Mudturtles made it to the Club Semifinals on Sunday and took advantage of everything the Adirondacks have to offer all weekend long ⛰️

Great rugby and great memories ✌️ Unitl next year, Lake Placid!

⛰️🏉 Once again, we head up to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, NY, for the annual Can-Am Rugby. This year, we got our hands on an early copy of the local paper 🗞️📰

Over 50 caps and counting🧢💯🧢

Congratulations to Thomas Ericksen (Leif) on achieving this milestone during our Round 1 playoff match vs Rochester. Since joining UCRFC, Leif has done whatever has been asked of him, playing every position from 4 through 15. Such a positional range is only possible with a versatile skillset, which for Leif includes being an excellent kicker, savvy with ball in hand, and a technical expert. He probably knows the laws better than 90% of refs 🏉📖

In 50 caps he’s played more positions than most will play over a career…maybe he’s trying to collect caps at all 15 spots 🫪 Until then, we’re proud to recognize Leif on his current achievement 👏🙌🐢

Congratulations to Rob Herbert on recently reaching 50 club caps! 5️⃣0️⃣🏉🐢 In typical Bobby Fresh fashion, his 50th cap was earned in style, sporting an exclusive Maggotfest 2026 Tour jersey. While we generally exclude tournaments from our official UCRFC cap tabulations, the 60-minute Maggotfest games meet USA Rugby match standards and are worth celebrating 🧢

An excellent ho**er (and prop when needed), it’s rare to see anyone in the tight five move around the pitch as well as Rob. On his way to 50 caps, Rob has stacked up an impressive accolade list, including Rookie of the Year, Most Improved Player, Most Valuable Player, 2023 leading try scorer, and the Roger Shaw “Rugby Spirit” award. 🏆🐢💪 Cheers to Rob on another notch in his belt, and to many more to come 🧢🙌🧢

Practices will be held on Tuesdays from here on out, as we share Unami with the Mudturtle family 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Even if you don’t plan to play 7’s, you can stop by on Tuesdays to get a run in at touch.

Our first tournament is this Saturday —now’s the perfect time to join in on the fun 😎🐢 See you at practice! 🏉
