🚨 Playground Update for Goat Island! 🚨

You may have noticed the slide on the larger playground has been out of service for quite a while. Here’s why:
➡️ A replacement was ordered right away, but due to manufacturer backorders, it took an extended period of time to arrive.
➡️ To meet safety and inspection standards, the slide had to be installed by the original playground equipment manufacturer.

We're excited to share that the new slide is finally here, installed, and has passed inspection! ✅🎉

Thank you for your patience—and now it's time to slide into fun again! We can't wait to see families enjoying the new slide!

The paved trail through Goat Island, connecting the Lakewood bridge to the downtown bridge, will be closed tomorrow morning (10/28) for mosquito spraying. The trail will reopen at noon.

Riverside Park and Greenway is now open!

Following the passing of Hurricane Helene, we’re happy to announce that all facilities, except for Goat Island Park, have reopened after extensive clean-up.

Our team is diligently working to remove the sand and restore Goat Island Park - we anticipate having it reopened before the end of the month. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Update on Park Facilities Post-Hurricane Helene

Following the passing of Hurricane Helene, we’re happy to announce that several facilities have successfully reopened after extensive clean-up efforts:

✅ Reopened Facilities:
- 8th Avenue Boat Launch
- Baltimore Boat Launch
-C.B. Huss Recreation Complex Boat Launch
-Paved walking trail through Goat Island, connecting Lakewood and Downtown Cramerton

Unfortunately, some facilities remain closed as recovery efforts continue. Both Goat Island Park and Riverside Park were severely impacted, each submerged under approximately 5 feet of water, with the parks left covered in 3.5 feet of sand.

🚧 Still Closed:
-Goat Island Park
-Riverside Park

🚧 Please Note: While the walking trail through Goat Island is open, do not cross any roped-off areas as we continue recovery work.

Our team is diligently working to remove the sand and restore these parks. We anticipate having both Goat Island Park and Riverside Park reopened before the end of the month. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Goat Island is now back open regular operation.

Goat Island will be closed until noon today while spraying takes place for fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes.
